A full slate of action on Wednesday night in girls basketball produced little drama as just one game was decided by less than double figures. Here’s how things played out on the last day in January.

Cambridge 46  Stillwater 21

Leading Scorers:  Indians – Fiona Mooney 12     Helen Mooney 10       Warriors – Marley Mueller 8

Key Points:  Cambridge held the Warriors to single numbers in every quarter and used a 24-5 third period to take control, on their way to their 17th victory in as many outings. 

 

Hoosick Falls 65  Greenwich 51

Leading Scorers:  Falls – Logan Thayne 37 (5 3’s)     Eliza Whitman 13       Witches – Molly Brophy 21     Devin Drew 13

Key Points:  The Panthers bottomed 10 triples, and rode Thayne’s 37 point effort to the comfortable “W”.

 

Hoosic Valley 42  Berlin 3

Leading Scorers:  Valley Emaleigh Peckham 11     Joyce-Ann Peckham 8

Key Points:  The Valley held the Mountaineers scoreless in the second half in posting the easy victory.

 

Tamarac 56  Mechanicville 41

Leading Scorers:  Bengals – Renna Poulin 26     Emily Erickson 19      Red Raiders – Charli Goverski 11

Key Points:  The Bengals built a 30-20 lead by halftime and converted on 20 of 25 free throws on the night to notch the win over the Raiders.

 

Saratoga Catholic 38  Waterford 32

Leading Scorers:  Saints – Ani Crocker 21       Ryleigh Dempsey 11      Fordians – Annalise Rebel 10

Key Points:  In a low-scoring affair the difference came at the charity stripe where the Saints connected on 11 of 21 while Waterford made just 2 of 17 from the line.
