About

At Wasaren Sportsnet I will cover the Wasaren and it’s players and coaches, giving recognition to what has always been one of the premier small school conferences in New York state.

As a former player, coach, and parent of the Wasaren I understand the depth of talent, competitiveness, and rich history the league has long been known for and look forward to sharing new stories of the Wasaren as they unfold.

We’ll also on occasion check in with local college squads and keep our eye on the professional ranks.

I welcome comments, and thoughts as well as information regarding players and teams in the league as we continue to build a network of friends throughout the Wasaren.

    Dear Rick,

I am writing on behalf of the Cambridge Tribesmen Booster Club. We will be hosting our second annual Senior Athletic banquet on June 9, 2016 and would like to invite you to attend the festivities and be the guest speaker at this year’s banquet..

We began the tradition of a Senior Athletic banquet last year to honor our senior athletes for their years of dedication to the CCS sports programs. We also want to give them a send-off to their futures beyond Cambridge. We have about 40 senior athletes this year, which is wonderful considering that the entire senior class consists of 70 students

The President, Penny Brand will start the evening off welcoming everyone, followed by dinner. After dinner you would speak, then our Athletic Director, Deb Lauver. These speeches would be followed by the Coaches Awards and then Booster Club Awards.

It is an honor and privilege to invite you to participate in our celebration. We believe that the path you followed – coming from a local high school, coaching at the high school level, and now covering sports in the Wasaren league – shows these kids that with hard work, anything is possible. We will cover your meal and the meal of any family members that would like to join us.

Thank you for considering our invitation. I hope to receive a positive reply from you by May 16th. If you have any questions, I can be reached at 518-935-8969 or debra.brownell@cambridgecsd.org.

    Sincerely,

    Deb Brownell

  2. Stillwater vs Hoosick Valley addition:
Teya Staie assisted Brooke Pickett’s second goal by stealing the ball and crossing it to Brooke. Well written article. Thanks for all the articles throughout the season.

  3. Hi Rick. I love the work you are doing covering the Wasaren League. My name is Jason Mcfall one half of the AD tandem for Berlin New Lebanon. I’m proud to announce that our merged sports program will now be known and the Mountain Lions. Separately each school will keep their own identity as the Berlin Mountaineers and The New Lebanon Tigers. For our sports program we will move forward as the Moutain Lions. I’d love to be able to report score and add to your brand please let me know how to do so. Thanks again and your site rocks!! Jmcfall@berlincentral.org
