Rick Lyons Staff Writer: In what’s shaping up to be a great race for the Wasaren girls title the Panthers of Hoosick Falls stayed perfect in league play with a win Wednesday night over Granville, and in doing so stayed atop the standings.
The Falls leads Tamarac and Cambridge by one game, while Hoosic Valley at 3-2 sits two back but easily in striking distance.
Hoosick Falls 56 Granville 25

Take Away: The Falls has Greenwich and Tamarac left to complete the first swing through the league without a blemish.
Cambridge 44 Tamarac 33
Leading Scorers: Indians – Helen Mooney 11 Lila Nolan 11 Olivia Mooney 10 Bengals – Emily Erickson 8
Key Stat: Cambridge, down eight at the half holds Tamarac to 10 second half points, scores 29 themselves, and posts a huge league “W”.
Take Away: Cambridge at 4-1 is off to their best start in years, and has the talent to stay in the race until season’s end.
Hoosic Valley 50 Mechanicville 19

Key Stat: The Vaunted Valley “D” shut down Mechanicville holding the Raiders to single digits in every quarter.
Take Away: The Valley’s two league losses were close to Tamarac and the Falls. The Indians will have plenty to say about the Wasaren championship before it’s all said and done.

Key Stat: The Warriors used a 12-5 fourth quarter edge to post the win.
Take Away: Stillwater has to like Svendsen scoring a season-high 16 as she gives the Warriors another scoring option to go with Higgins and Londyn Mitchell. Greenwich is a perfect 4-0 in non league play, while going 0-5 in Wasaren runs.
