Raiders Chapman, Wasaren Sportsnet Player of the Week
Congratulations to Mechanicville running back Evan Chapman, our latest recipient of the Wasaren Sportsnet Player of the Week award.
The sophomore back ran for 278 yards and two touchdowns in Mechanicville’s 42-15 win over Watervliet on Friday night. Chapman scored on runs of 2 and 38 yards leading the 4-0 Raiders to the win over previously unbeaten Watervliet.
Congratulations to Evan, this week’s Wasaren Sportsnet Player of the Week.
Saturday Roundup
Not much action in the league on Saturday as six of the seven football schools played on Friday night. Just Cambridge took the field Saturday and as they seemingly always do, handled their business. Also a nice girls soccer match up between undefeated Stillwater and the always tough Panthers of Hoosick Falls. Continue reading

Chapman Lead’s Red Raiders Over Watervliet
“Next man up.” A common saying in team sports used when a starter is sidelined and their replacement is expected to step in and get the job done. That man in Mechanicville is running back Evan Chapman. Last week the sophomore was called on after lead back Marc DeBates went down with an injury against Holy Trinity. In that contest Chapman rushed for 181 yards and a score in the Raiders come from behind “W”. Continue reading
