Maxon shuts out a good hitting Waterford club, and Nemjo and Mays drive in six of the seven runs to give Tamarac the road “W”.

The Fordians scored 12 runs on 11 hits in just four innings offensively, in a mercy rule shortened contest.

Hitting Stars:  Witches – Tom Abate 2-4, 2 RBI’s      Christian O’Brien 2-4, 2B, 2 RBI’s      Jesse Kuzmich 2-3       John Walsh 2-4

A six-spot in the bottom of the fifth gave Greenwich an 8-1 cushion and the Witches closed things out for the non-league win over the Golden Horde.

The Fordians trailed 4-1 heading to the sixth, but scored seven in the frame and added five more in the seventh to earn the come-from-behind victory over Watervliet.

Tamarac pitching limited the Valley to just three hits, as the Bengals post their first league win of the season.

Wasaren Player of the Week

waterford logoCongratulations to Waterford baseball player Mike Castracani on being named Wasaren Player of the Week.

Castracani went 3-5 including a pair of doubles with 4 RBI’s in a 12-11 win over Cambridge on April 10th.

Three days later the Waterford senior singled and doubled in a 3-0 win over Hoosic Valley.

Castracani saved his best for last in a 5-3 win over Greenwich, earning the pitching win and hitting a three-run walk-off homerun in the bottom of the seventh to give Waterford the “W”.

Congratulations to Mike, this week’s Wasaren Player of the Week.
