Wasaren Golf: Raiders and Panthers Post Wins

Mechanicville 3 Cambridge-Salem 2

In a match played at the Mechanicville Golf Course on Monday the homestanding Red Raiders picked up wins in flights 1,4 and 5 to post the narrow victory over Cambridge-Salem.

Mechanicville’s Joey Manzer bested all players on the day, posting a 44, and Manzer was joined in the winner’s circle by teammates Nate and Jack Salvadore to round out the scoring for the Raiders.

James Toleman and Luke MacDougall earned points for Cambridge-Salem, winning their individual matches in flights two and three.

With the win Mechanicville moves to 3-0 on the year while, Cambridge -Salem goes to 0-1 with the loss.

Hoosick Falls 5 Greenwich 0

Hoosick Falls freshman Aiden Fleming carded a 38 to claim medalist honors, leading the Panthers to the sweep of Greenwich in action at the Hoosick Falls Country Club on Monday.

Joining Fleming in the win column were Panthers Miles Smith 39, Brady Hathaway 40, Allison Hathaway 42, and Dylan Callahan 42.

Brad Brophy lead Greenwich with a round of 44 followed by Patrick McFee 48, Luke Demianenko 51, Sam Ziehm 53, and Eric Wade who carded a score of 56 at the par 34 venue.

With the victory Hoosick Falls moves to 2-0 on the young season, while Greenwich goes to 0-1 with the loss.

Joey Manzer carded a 40 at the Mechanicville Golf Course on Thursday claiming medalist honors and leading the Red Raiders to a victory over Tamarac in the season-opener for both teams.

RJ Roberts and Matthew Salvadore won their individual matches for Mechanicville, while teammate John Breen halved a point with the Bengals Joe Carista in the fifth flight.

Adam Rice earned a point for Tamarac with a win in flight three.

Saratoga Catholic 5 Stillwater 0

Charlie Greiner fired the low round of 40 on the day to pace the Saints to the shutout win over Stillwater in a match played at Saratoga Spa Park on Thursday.

Joining Greiner in the win column were teammates Will Emery, Cameron Khoury, Mark Hmura and Tommy Greiner.

In action at the Hoosick Falls Country Club on Thursday the Panthers swept the visitors from Waterford in the 2021 opener for both squads.

Aiden Fleming led the way with the low round of 34, and was joined in the winner’s circle by Brady Hathaway (38), Miles Smith (39), Allison Hathaway (54), and Dylan Callahan (45).
