With Wasaren Sportsnet being just seven days old it’s time to hand out our first Wasaren Player of the Week Award.

This week’s recipient is Stillwater guard Mitchel Wayand. I had the pleasure of watching Mitchel on Wednesday night when he scorched Schuylerville with 38 points including seven 3’s, one night after lighting up Lake George with a 33 point effort.  The 6’2″ senior finished his week with a 12 point game on Saturday against Cohoes.

Wayand has an excellent handle, unlimited range, and can beat you off the bounce or rise and fire over the top.  Mitchel is averaging 26.5 with 43 3’s through 11 games for the 9-2 Warriors.
