Sectional play continued on Wednesday with six Wasaren squads taking the floor. and at night’s end five of the six teams notched wins, advancing to the next round of the Section II tournament.

Girls

Hoosick Falls 61   Broadalbin Perth 22

Leading Scorers: Falls – Megan Flynn 17   Anna Wysocki 13   Ally Burdick 10     Perth – Erick Kordjyak 9

Key Stat: The Panthers threw a shutout in the second frame, and the 23-0 period sealed this one early.

Hoosic Valley 61   Catskill 27

Leading Scorers: Valley – Aleyah Proper 12   Cami Wren 10 Erin Dugrenier 10    Cats – Hayley Jones 15

Key Stat: As always the key stat for the Valley is points allowed.  Yesterday we said the Cats would struggle to score 30, …. they didn’t.

Key Stat: The Bengals won every quarter, bottomed six triples, had nine players score, and were in total control on their way to a big second round match up with the Valley.

Leading Scorers: Warriors – Abby Higgins 22   Natalie Menneto 18    Londyn Mitchell 10   Black Horse – Emily Vallee 15   Carlee Irish 15   Kaitlyn Congdon 12

Key Stat:  We said yesterday if anyone joined Higgins and had a big night offensively, the Warriors would have a good shot at the “W”.  Menneto and Mitchell came up big.

Leading Scorers: Blue Hawks – Mykal Walters 20   Emily Clark 19   Red Raiders – Amanda Kenyon 8

Key Stat: Hudson hit 10 times from beyond the arc,, led 34-14 at the half, and rolled to their 21st straight victory.

Leading Scorers: Witches – Brendan Stout 15    George Ostrowski 11

Key Stat: The key stat was having played in the Wasaren all year which tested the Witches andenabled a three win Greenwich squad to drop the #2 seed in Class C.
