Key Stat:  The Saints built a 27-11 halftime cushion.

Take Away:  Spa Catholic posts the comfortable “W” in the opening round of the Mike Beson Memorial Tournament on Friday night.

Key Stat:  The Saints outscored North Warren 24-15 over the final eight minutes.

Take Away:  Spa Catholic rides a big fourth period to the narrow victory in the championship run of the Beson Tournament.

Key Stat:  Waterford hung 46 first-half points on the board, building a 34-point cushion by intermission.

Leading Scorers:  Fordians – Derrick Pontore 21 / 10 rebounds      Anthony Scunziano 17 / 12 rebounds         Heatly – Ryan Sedgewick 9

Key Stat: Defensively the Fordians allowed just eight points through three quarters of play, including a shutout of Heatly in the     third period.

Take away:  Waterford captures their season opening Tip-Off Tournament in convincing fashion, posting easy “W’s” over the Flying Forts, and Hornets.  

Girls Basketball

Mechanicville 50   Cohoes 23

Leading Scorers:  Red Raiders – Tanner Eiseman 12     Ella Zecca 11     Allison Kenyon 10       Tigers – Kaelyn Greene 6

Key Stat:  The Raiders outscored Cohoes 32-11 after the break.

Take Away:  Mechanicville put nine players in the scoring column including three in doubles, to post the comfortable season-opening victory over Cohoes.   

Ichabod Crane 64 Stillwater 41

Leading Scorers: Crane – Alex Schmidt 21 Race 15 Daniel Warner 11 Warriors – Jaxon Meuller 12 Lukas Lilac 9

Key Stat: Crane held an 8-2 advantage in made threes.

Take Away: Crane led 21-10 after the first period and was never headed in posting the victory over the Warriors in first round action of the Ichabod Crane Thanksgiving Tournament on Wednesday.
