
Hoosick Falls/Tamarac 52 Rensselaer 8
The Wildcats scored early and often, building a 33-0 advantage by the end of the first period in posting the one-sided decision over Rensselaer Friday night.
HF/T scored points in all three phases during the first quarter with a special team score, a pick-six, and three rushing touchdowns on offense.
The Wildcats Jack Cavanaugh opened the scoring on a 9-yard TD romp, and Carson Glover soon after added a 13-yard carry for six and a 13-0 lead.
Andrew Sparks’ 12-yard scoring run was sandwiched between a 55-yard interception return by Glover and a Richie Stifter 48-yard punt return, completing the first period onslaught by the home squad.
A 23-yard touchdown run in the second quarter by AJ Brown ballooned the Wildcat lead to 40-0 before Rensselaer got on the board with a 1-yard TD plunge from Noah Vogel.
In the third it was Stifter with an 80-yard kickoff return, high stepping into the end zone and a 46-8 HF/T cushion, and Peyton Bartow wrapped the scoring in the final frame with a three-yard run.
The Wildcats rushed for 205 yards on the night, Sparks leading the way with 103 yards on five carries for the 3-0 Hoosick Falls/Tamarac squad.
Stillwater 28 Voorheesville 9
Stillwater scored a touchdown in each period and their defense pitched a second-half shutout in notching the road “W” over Voorheesville.
Stillwater quarterback Jaxon Mueller scored on runs of 22 and 5 yards and added a 22-yard scoring strike to Lukas Lilac to lead the Stillwater attack.
Lilac paced the ground game finishing the night with 151 yards on 19 carries including an 8-yard TD run, while Mueller finished with an even 100 yards on 11 totes and completed 4 of 6 passes for 71 yards.
Voorheesville took a brief lead early in the second quarter when a 10-yard touchdown pass from Joe Kelly to Eric Richardson gave the Blackbirds a 9-7 advantage.
But Stillwater’s defensive unit shut the door for the remainder and the visitors came away with their third win in as many outings this year.
Boys Soccer
Waterford 11 Lansingburgh 3
Six Fordians rang the bell in Waterford’s dominant “W” over the Burgh.
Josh Catanzarita scored four times, with Tristan Carutasu and Logan Sheehan both connecting twice, while Sam Caulkins, Jake Malinowski and Mason Noto all added single tallies in the victory.
Lansingburgh was led by Bryan Trujillo-Madrid with a pair of goals.
Hoosic Valley 3 Cambridge-Salem 0
The Hawks used a big defensive effort and a pair of goals from Isaac Wiley and a Landon Reilly tally to get past Cambridge/Salem.
Wiley connected midway thru the first, finishing off a Coffin find, and minutes later it was Wiley again, this time scoring off a corner kick and the Valley took the 2-0 lead into the break.
With 20 minutes remaining in the match Reilly ripped a strike from just inside the 18 to cap the scoring in the Valley’s road win.

Hoosic Valley keeper Sophie Svec saved 24 shots, but the Cardinals found the net for three scores in the non-league win over the Hawks.

Hoosick Falls 3.5 Cambridge/Salem 1.5
Cambridge/Salem’s Mason MacDonald and Hoosick Falls’ Aiden Fleming shared medalist honors with rounds of 38 but the Panthers prevailed in action at the Hoosick Falls Country Club on Friday.
After Fleming and McDonald earning points in flights one and two respectively, it was the Falls Dylan Callahan in flight three and Michael Plusch in flight five coming away with wins to seal the victory.
CCS’s Josh Pratt and HF’s Jack Shea split the point in flight four.
With the win Hoosick Falls moves to 5-2 on the season while Cambridge/Salem goes to 4-5 with the loss.
