Saturday Recap: Mechanicville/Hoosic Valley Tops Cohoes,

Mechanicville/Hoosic Valley 34   Cohoes 22

M/HV used a 27-point second frame to build a 34-6 halftime advantage and held off Cohoes late to earn the road win on Saturday.

The visitors QB Jordan Barnes threw for 140 yards with scoring strikes to Marcus Robinson, Colin Richardson and Nate Hernadez to lead the attack. 

Robinson led the ground game for M/HV with 63 yards on seven carries while Hernadez and Barnes added rushing scores.   

 

Lake George/Warrensburg/Bolton 50   Stillwater 7

Stillwater led briefly in the first period when Jay Gannon connected with Lukas Lilac on a 40-yard TD pass for a 7-6 Stillwater lead.  

But the home squad quickly regained the lead and control building a 36-7 cushion by halftime and cruised to the win.

Ben Sheldon caught a touchdown pass and ran for two more, and quarterback Caden Allen had a running and throwing score to lead LG/W/B who with the victory move to 7-0 on the season.

 

Mechanicville 3   Voorheesville 1

Tom Wendel connected for a pair of goals, and Scotty Lynch added a single tally to lead Mechanicville past the Blackbirds of Voorheesville on Saturday.

Mechanicville keeper Joey Devito saved seven shots in the home “W” as Mechanicville finishes their regular season with a 14-1-1 mark.  

 

Cohoes 3   Waterford 2  2 OT

In the third annual Mohawk Cup Match Cohoes earned the victory in extra sessions with a Joe Trudeau tally on a night where Josh Catanzarita broke the Waterford boys scoring record with his 102nd career goal.

Tristan Carutasu added a goal for Waterford in the match while John Bobeck and Luca Grestini added tallies for Cohoes.

 

Cambridge 4   Hoosic Valley 0

Samantha Crandall scored a hat trick to lead Cambridge past the Hawks of Hoosic Valley on Saturday in Cambridge.

Kelley Sweet added a goal along with a pair of assists for the home squad, and keeper Lexie Pedersen saved two shots in posting the clean sheet.
