Josh Catanzarita with a four-goal outing led the Fordians past Schoharie in round one of the Class C boys soccer tournament Thursday night in Waterford.

Tristan Carutasu added a pair of goals and four assists, while Logan Sheehan and Nate Griner connected on scoring strikes as well. 

Logan Kelley with 14 saves combined with the Fordian defense for the clean sheet.

With the win Waterford advances to a quarterfinal match, Monday night, with Bolton/Warrensburg at Fordian Stadium in a 7 p.m. start.

Stillwater 3   Corinth 2   

Stillwater posts a come-from -behind “W” in Class C, first round action.

Ben Rubinstein finished with a goal and a pair of assists for Stillwater, with David Scharchelli connecting early in the second half on the tying score and Tyrese Julian, off a Rubinstein feed, netting the eventual game-winner with 30 minutes remaining in regulation.

Keeper David Giso Jr. finished with 12 saves for Stillwater who travel to Voorheesville on Monday to face the #2 seeded Blackbirds.

Greenwich 3   Mayfield 0

Brady Clifton, Evan Merrill and Jack Fortier all connected with scoring strikes in the Witches victory over Mayfield in Class C. 

With the win Greenwich moves on and will face top-seeded Maple Hill on Monday.  

Bolton/Warrensburg 4   Hoosic Valley 1

Ben Holcomb’s hat trick led B/W past the Valley in a Class C first round match.

Will Hens added a single tally for Bolton/Warrensburg, while Hoosic Valley’s score came on an own goal by B/W.    

B/W keeper Keith Sonley saved seven shots in the match while Hawks keeper Dem Neary turned back 11 Bolton/Warrensburg attempts.
