Stillwater Boys, Greenwich Girls Advance to the Finals, Maple Hill Tops the Valley

Leading Scorers:  Stillwater – Jaxon Mueller 21   Kaelan Leak 13   Thomas McDonough 13, 3’s           Fonda – Brady Melious 10

Key Stat:  Stillwater held Fonda to 15 points through the first three periods.

Take Away:  Stillwater, leading 28-13 at the break, put the game away with a 22-2 third frame earning the comfortable semifinal win in Class B and advancing to the championship game on Friday in Glens Falls at 6:45 where they’ll face the winner of tonight’s semifinal between Schuylerville and Mechanicville.   

 

Greenwich 48   Maple Hill 30

Leading Scorers:  Witches – Adrianna Rojas 15   Brooke Kuzmich 13   Grace Autiello 10, 3 3’s           Wildcats – Rosilee Forrest 10

Key Stat:  Greenwich held the Wildcats to nine, first-half points.   

Take Away:  The Witches built a 27-9 halftime advantage and cruised to the Class C semifinal “W”, advancing to the championship run on Saturday at HVCC.  The top-seeded and undefeated Witches, (22-0), will face #2 Duanesburg in a 1 p.m. tip.    

 

Maple Hill 54   Hoosic Valley 47

Leading Scorers:  Maple Hill – Brady Cole 18   Nick Novak 11   Dean Chevrier 10         Valley – Chris Jones 15   Isaac Wiley 14, 4 3’s    Landon Reilly 10

Key Stat:  Maple Hill connected on 18 of 30 free throw attempts while Hoosic Valley converted 6 of 8 from the stripe.  

Take Away:  The Valley led 17-6 after the first eight minutes and took a slim 39-37 lead into the final frame where the Wildcats completed the comeback win, advancing to face Duanesburg in the Class C finals on Friday in Glens Falls. 

Hoosic Valley finishes an excellent season at 15-8 including a trip to the Class C semis.
