In a Tuesday afternoon get together in Mechanicville between two Wasaren golf powers, the home squad came away with the narrow “W” in a highly competitive match.
Logan Starks fired the low round of the day carding a 37 at the Mechanicville Golf Club.
In flight one Hoosick Falls’ Aiden Fleming and Mechanicville’s Matthew Salvadore finished all square, splitting the point.
The Falls picked up a point in flight two with Dylan Callahan topping Nate Salvadore 2 and 1, and in flight five where Spencer Tate prevailed over Ben Amato 4 and 2.
But Mechanicville posted individual wins in flight three, Jack Salvadore over Brady Mann 3 and 2, flight four where Logan Starks defeated Jack Shea 4 and 2, and in flight six with Jacob Pickett besting Devin Gauthier 3 and 2.
With the win Mechanicville improves to 6-0 on the season, while Hoosick Falls after the close loss moves to 2-1 on the year.
Cambridge 2 Hoosic Valley 1 OT
After a scoreless first half of action the Valley edged in front when Hannah Coffin finished a Sophia Akin feed giving the host squad a 1-0 advantage.
But Cambridge answered quickly knotting the score on an unassisted tally by Emily DeSouza and the match remaining deadlocked through regulation.
In overtime Cambridge walked it off when Kelly Sweet connected for the game-winner off an Avery Benson indirect kick.
Between the posts Cambridge keeper Lexie Pedersen saved three shots while Lilli Ruepp turned back seven attempts for the Valley.
Greenwich 1 Fonda 0
In a tight, defensive match throughout, the Witches connected on the game’s lone goal when Taylor Poovey found the back of the net off a direct kick from 20 yards out giving Greenwich the well-earned road “W”.
Witches’ keeper Oliveah Reisel combined with the Greenwich defense led by Luna Weib, Brooke Kuzmich and Isabelle Miller, for the clean sheet.
Tamarac 1 Scotia 1
Scotia broke on top just 10:24 into the match on a Madeline Vedder tally and the 1-0 lead that Scotia took into the break.
Tamarac pulled even early in the second half when Kylie Gross found Abby Acknee who finished with the final score of the match as both defensive units shut the door the rest of the way.

Maddy Hopeck tallied twice with teammates Madison Daley, Gianna Pitts and Tanner Eiseman all adding single scoring strikes to lead Mechanicville past B/NL.
