Waterford 8   Hoosic Valley 1

Six different Fordians rang the bell in Waterford’s homecoming victory over the Valley.

Payton Galuski, Logan Sheehan and Christian Penk all scored a pair of goals, while Blake Guertin, Jake Catanzarita and Mason Noto all connected on single tallies for Waterford.

Mechanicville 1    Niskayuna 1

Mechanicville held a 1-0 advantage throughout much of the match before Niskayuna pulled even with a second half tally and from there the two squads battled to a draw.

The visitors struck for a first-half goal when a Scotty Lynch header, finished off a long throw-in from Tom Pitts giving Mechanicville the 1-0 lead.  

After the break Mechanicville continued to apply pressure ripping several shots off the crossbar but were unable to gain the two-score advantage.  

Niskyuna’s Soren Borger, with what proved to be the final goal of the afternoon, connected on the equalizer late in the second half.   

Mechanicville’s keeper Mark Pingelski saved seven shots in the game, while Eric Thurn turned back five attempts between the posts for Nisky.  

 

Cambridge-Salem 60   Corinth 0

C/S scored 40, first-half points in the one-sided decision over Corinth on Saturday.  

The Tigers rushed for eight touchdowns and nearly 300 yards in the game with Preston Peabody, Jackson Rowland and Isaiah Loret leading the way with two scores each.

C/S moves to 3-0 with the win.
