Friday Night Results: Mechanicville/Hoosic Valley, Hoosic Falls/Tamarac Post Gridiron Wins

Mechanicville/Hoosic Valley 52   Broadalbin-Perth 24

In a close game at the half that saw the visitors nursing a 30-24 lead, the M/HV defense shut things down after the break while their offense continued to put points on the board in earning the road win on Friday night.  

Marcus Robinson rushed for 166 yards and three scores, DiMaggio Ferrara ran for 126 yards with a receiving and rushing touchdown and quarterback AJ Messercola was 4 of 5 through the air for 90 yards with a pair of scoring strikes to lead the M/HV attack.

Defensively, Ferrara finished the game with 11 tackles and a fumble recovery and Aydin Wiley highlighted the special team’s night with an 80-yard kickoff return for six.

With the win M/HV improves to a perfect 5-0 on the season while B/P drops to 1-4 on the campaign.

Hoosick Falls/Tamarac 52   Green Tech 22

HF/Tam built a 20-6 advantage after the first period and slowly pulled away for the victory at Bob Ford Field in Albany.

Wildcat quarterback Sam Fauler threw for 178 yards, connecting on 12 of 19 attempts with four touchdowns, finding Richie Stifter, (138 receiving yards), and Carson Glover with two scoring strikes each.

Glover led the Wildcat rushing attack with 102 yards on 11 carries and Ryan McMahon added 88 yards on 11 totes with a rushing score.  

HF/T improves to 3-2 on the season with the “W”.

Hoosic Valley 2   Hartford 0

Senior captains Mason Speanburg and Landon Reilly provided the offense with a tally each and the Valley defense pitched the shutout in the Hawks home win in Schaghticoke on Friday.

Cambridge/Salem 5   Hoosick Falls 1

On Senior Night in Cambridge, Luke LeBlanc and Carson Sartoris with two goals apiece and Alex Olsen with a single tally led the way in the victory over the Panthers.

Michael Plush connected for the Hoosick Falls score in the match.
