Gianna Pitts scored a goal in each half, leading Mechanicville to the narrow win over Saranac in the Eddie Russell Memorial Tournament.

Brooke Hansen connected on a second half strike for Saranac.

Mechanicville keeper Ava Grimmick saved four shots in the match while Saranac keeper Addison Castine turned back six attempts in the loss.

The Fordians ran out to a five-goal advantage by the break and cruised from there to the win over Lake George in the Columbus Day Tournament in Warterford.

Blake Guertin with a pair of goals and Payton Galuski, Logan Sheehan, Jake Catanzarita and Connor Belonga with single tallies led the Fordian attack.

Waterford keeper Logan Kelley saved four shots and with the Fordian defense posted the clean sheet.

Waterford advances to the championship game on Monday night, facing Corinth in a 7 p.m. kickoff at Fordian Stadium.

Mechanicville, trailing in the match came from behind to force overtime where eventually the game was decided on penalty kicks with L/C coming away with the win in the Mechanicville Soccer Classic.

Scotty Lynch scored twice, and Ethan Raucci connected once for Mechanicville, while Ethan Quadrini with a pair of goals and Esiah Bodnaruk with a single strike led L/C offensively.

Mechanicville keeper Mark Pingelski saved eight shots in the game while L/C keeper Liam Deeb turned way 12 Mechanicville attempts in the match.
