Key Stat:  The Witches held a 12-4 advantage in made threes.

Take Away:  Greenwich won each of the first three quarters, building a 52-27 lead heading into the final frame where they closed out the win over the #2 ranked Class A team in the state, in the Amsterdam College Showcase on Friday. 

Mechanicville 54   LaSalle 45

Key Stat:  Mechanicville outscored LaSalle 19-6 in the final period.  

Take Away:  Mechanicville held LaSalle to 14, second half points and used a big fourth frame to secure the “W”.

Key Stat:  Greenwich scored 51 points after the break.

Take Away:  The Witches trailed 17-12 after the first period, but outscored Luzerne in each of the remaining periods to win going away led by Skiff’s 41-point effort.

Spa Catholic 78   Cambridge 39

Leading Scorers:  Saints – Hunter Failes 15, 3 3’s     Jasyen Thompson 15        David Redgrave 11    Ryan Gillis 10       Cambridge – Yakovick 11

Key Stat:  The Saints jumped out to a 24-2 lead after the first frame.

Take Away:  Spa puts four players in doubles and cruises to the first-round win in their holiday tournament.  The Saints will face Schuylerville in the title game on Saturday at 7:30. With the win Spa Catholic moves to 7-1, 4-0 on the year.  

Hoosic Valley 49   Broadalbin Perth 44

Leading Scorers:  Valley – Landon Reilly 22        BP – Savoie 11, 3 3’s

Key Stat:  The Valley converted 17 of 25 free throws while Perth connected on 8 of 14 from the stripe.

Take Away:  Knotted at 31 all entering the fourth, Hoosic Valley, led by Reilly’s 10 points, won the frame to earn the victory over Broadalbin Perth.
