Wasaren Boys Basketball: Saints Stay Unbeaten in League Play, Falls Moves to 8-1

Hoosic Valley 46   Tamarac 38

Leading Scorers:  Valley – Landon Reilly 13     Dem Neary 11, 3 3’s           Bengals – Sam Kuiken 10

Key Stat:  The Valley held Tamarac to single scoring numbers in each of the final three periods.

Take Away:  Defensively Hoosic Valley allowed just 17 points over the final three frames while generating enough offensively to earn the home “W” over the Bengals  

 

Mechanicville 77   Waterford 34

Leading Scorers:  Mechanicville – Cruz Goverski 26     Mark Pingelski 20     Chris Couser 12          Fordians – Logn Kelly 15

Key Stat:  Mechanicville outscored the Fordians 26-7 in the third frame.  

Take Away:  Mechanicville built a 37-18 lead by halftime and cruised to road victory over Waterford.  

 

Greenwich 70   Cambridge 47

Leading Scorers:  Witches – Joe Skiff 17, 3 3’s      Colin Traver 10      Jack Saunders 10          Tigers – Maher 14      Rowland 11, 3 3’s

Key Stat:  Greenwich held a 13-4 advantage in made threes.  

Take Away:  Greenwich took control with a 22-5 second quarter, put three players in doubles and shot it well from distance in notching the road “W” over Cambridge.  

 

Spa Catholic 57   Stillwater 26

Leading Scorers:  Saints – Jasyn Thompson 13     Tyler Hicks 11, 3 3’s          Stillwater – Kaden Burdo 5     Cody LaFountain 5

Key Stat:  The Saints limited the visitors just 14 points over the first three periods.

Take Away:  Spa Catholic uses a big defensive effort while putting 11 players in the scoring column to post the one-sided victory and remain undefeated in Wasaren play.  

 

Hoosick Falls 65   Berlin/New Lebanon 29

Leading Scorers:  Panthers – Ryan Sparks 20, 10 rebounds     Carson Glover 19         B/NL – Haiokin Parker 12      Nate Hendricks 11

Key Stat:  The Falls outscored B/NL 31-5 over the middle two frames.

Take Away:  Hoosick Falls led 21-16 after the first eight minutes but locked down defensively the rest of the way in capturing the comfortable road victory, improving to 8-1 on the year.
