Key Stat:  Tamarac held Chatham to single scoring numbers in three of the four quarters.  

Take Away:  Leading 20-16 at the break, Tamarac took control with a 25-6 third frame and closed out the victory in first round action in Class B.

Leading Scorers:  Witches – Bailee Wolfe 20      Grace Autiello 17 3, 3’s      Jordan Wolfe 14      Brooke Kuzmich 14      Olivia Davis 13            Gibbons – Barnaset 10

Key Stat:  Greenwich opened with a 37-5 first period.

Take Away:  The Witches put five players in doubles and scored 58 points before the break in posting the opening round win in Class C.

 

Stillwater 70   Mekeel Christian 23

Leading Scorers:  Stillwater – Addison Thornton 16       Andie Luskin 10         MC – Johannah Gardner 10

Key Stat:  Stillwater held allowed just 11 points through the first three quarters of play.

Take Away:  Stillwater hung 33, first quarter points on the board and cruised from there to the dominant win in Class C.  

 

OESJ 63   Hoosic Valley 25 

Leading Scorers:  Valley – Paige Gela 10

Key Stat:  OESJ held the Valley to single numbers in each of the final three periods.

Take Away:  OESJ outscored Hoosic Valley 34-8 after the break to earn the win in Class C.

Mechanicville 70   Schuylerville 59

Key Stat:  Mechanicville connected on 10 of 18 free throw attempts while Schuylerville was just 2 of 2 from the stripe.

Take Away:  Mechanicville trailed at the break thanks to a 29-point second frame by Schuylerville that saw the Black Horses bottom seven triples and take a 36-28 lead into halftime.  But Mechanicville answered with a 24-8 third period led by Pingelski’s 11 points, and held off Schuylerville over the final eight minutes in posting a wild, opening round win in Class B.  

#2 Mechanicville will face #7 Cobleskill in a Class B quarterfinal on Saturday at Guilderland in a 2:30 tip.

 

Tamarac 59   Corinth 55

Leading Scorers:  Bengals – Kam Edmonds 19      Sam Kuiken 19        Corinth – Brendan Shanahan 22    Bradyn Stone 13

Key Stat: The Bengals converted 15 of 19 from the foul line while Corinth managed just five trips to the stripe, connecting three times.

Take Away:  In a close game throughout Tamarac led 31-27 at the break and 44-36 after three quarters and connected on 8 of 10 free throws in the final period to notch the win in Class B, setting up an all-Wasaren quarterfinal with the Bengals facing top-seeded Hoosick Falls on Saturday at Guilderland in a 4:00 run.

 

Hoosick Falls 66   Cambridge 40

Leading Scorers:  Panthers – Carson Glover 15 3, 3’s       Ryan sparks 14       Brady Mann 12       Richie Stifter 10              Tigers – Tully Maher 14

Key Stat:  The Falls opened with a 23-4 first quarter.

Take Away:  Hoosick Falls rode a dominant start four players in doubles to the opening round “W” in Class B setting up a Saturday quarterfinal with the Bengals of Tamarac.

 

Saratoga Catholic 85   Lake George 23

Leading Scorers:  Saints – Bryce Peterson 16      Davis Redgrave 11       Jasyn Thompson 10     LG – Chris Henry 10

Key Stat:  The Saints held Lake George to single scoring numbers in each of the final three periods.

Take Away:  Spa Catholic built a 49-14 advantage by halftime and coasted to the opening round win in Class C setting up an all-Wasaren quarterfinal with Hoosic Valley on Saturday at 5:00 in Guilderland.

 

Hoosic Valley 63   Fort Plain 38

Leading Scorers:  Valley – Landon Reilly 19 3, 3’s       Brown 11           FP – Castellano 14

Key Stat:  Hoosic Valley won every quarter.

Take Away:  The Valley steadily built a double-digit lead by the break owning a 28-16 advantage and pulled away over the final two frames for the comfortable opening round “W”, advancing to a Class C quarterfinal run with Spa Catholic on Saturday.

 

Johnstown 49   Stillwater 46

Leading Scorers:  Sir Bills – Dylan Hulbert 16       Danny Brown 13        Braeden Fennessey 12 3, 3’s      Stillwater – Mason Wagner 15       Rocco Schneller 12

Key Stat:  Stillwater led 20-0 through the first nine minutes of play.

Take Away:  Held scoreless through the first nine minutes, Johnstown chipped away at the deficit, taking a 34-33 lead late in the third period and held off Stillwater for the opening round win in Class B.
