In a match at Hoosick Falls Country Club that saw three flights finish tied, the visitors from Mechanicville prevailed in the season-opener for both squads.

Mechanicville’s Matt Salvadore and Cambridge’s Luke MacDougall shared medalist honors with rounds of 39, splitting the point in flight one. Cambridge’s James Beagle and Mechanicville’s Ben Amato finished deadlocked in flight two as did Corbin Hall (C) and Vinny Taylor (M) in flight four.

Mechanicville’s Kolton Renaldi and Brody Landy won their individual matches to earn points and secure the road “W”.

Hoosick Falls 3.5 Tamarac 2.5

In action at Frear Park in Troy, the match was tied at 2.5-2.5 through five flights and went to the tie-breaking sixth flight where Hoosick Falls picked up the win to claim the victory.

Hoosick Falls senior Dylan Callahan carded the low round of the day firing a 4-over par 39 to notch medalist honors.

Other top scores for the Falls included Spencer Tate 40, Quinn Haynes 43, Zach Houghton 45, Aidyn DeGraaf 46, Jack Shea 49, Memphis Hathaway 54 and Carter Stratton with a round of 57.

Top scores for the Bengals included Graham Painter 40, Adam Quackenbush, Jack Becker and Troy Karz all with rounds of 41, Jake Bieg and Nate Smith with 45’s and Ben Hernick and Jake Gardy with nine-hole scores of 48.
