After a scoreless first half the flood gates opened for the Mechanicville attack who found the back of the net five times, pulling away for the nonleague “W” over South High on Wednesday in Mechanicville.
Gianna Pitts led the charge with a hat trick while teammates Tanner Eiseman and Emma Andrews added single tallies.
South Glens Falls did not get a single shot on goal in the match, with Mechanicville firing 23 times at South High keeper Emmalee Sheeran who saved 12 shots in defeat.
Cambridge 5 Salem 0
Holding a 1-0 advantage at the break, Cambridge rang the bell four times after intermission in posting the home win over Salem.
Nora Carroll scored a hat trick for the victors with Jillian Robinson adding a goal, Natalie Wood a goal and two assists, Emily DeSouza a pair of assists and Vanessa Robinson with a scoring find for Cambridge.
Cambridge keeper Lexie Pedersen saved six shots in the match combining with the Tiger “D” for the shutout.
Salem goaltender Kaileigh Schwab turned back nine shots in the loss.
Greenwich 4 Stillwater 0 (Tuesday)
Greenwich built a 3-0 cushion by halftime on their way to the comfortable road victory over Stillwater on Tuesday.
Six minutes in, the Witches got on the board when Owen Shannon split the posts from 25 yards out for the 1-0 Greenwich lead.
With five minutes remaining in the half a Hudson Logan cross found a streaking Shannon whose header found the back for a 2-0 advantage.
Two minutes later the Witches extended their lead to three when Colin Traver’s header off a Shannon free kick connected.
Late in the game an unassisted tally by Christian Morency capped the scoring for Greenwich.
Greenwich keeper Jack Scieszka saved three shots and combined with the Witches defense for the clean sheet.
Stillwater goaltender Tristan O’Brien saved 12 shots in the match.
Hoosic Valley 3 Broadalbin 3 OT
The two squads battled through regulation and overtime but remained deadlocked at the end of play.
Tyler Jones with a pair of goals and Parker Gela with a single tally led the Valley attack.
