Senior Hudson Logan led the way with a hat trick in the Witches one-sided decision over the Saints in Greenwich on Thursday.
Junior Owen Shannon and sophomore Noah Speanburg both added a pair of goals for Greenwich who outshot Spa Catholic 35-0 in the match.
Saints keeper Thomas Zayak, under relentless pressure throughout saved 28 shots in the loss.
Waterford 6 Cambridge/Salem 0
The Fordians ran out to a 4-0 lead by the break and cruised from there to the home “W” over Cambridge/Salem.
Waterford scored twice in the first 10 minutes of action, the first coming on a Logan Sheehan finish off a Blake Guertin look, the second, Payton Galuski finding Guertin for the 2-0 advantage.
At the 19-minute mark Sheehan connected from 25 yards out off a Galuski find, and Waterford closed the first half assault when Jake Catanzarita found Guertin, whose long ball found the mark for the 4-0 Fordian cushion.
Waterford added two more tallies after the break with Connor Belonga scoring off a corner kick, and Guertin connecting for the third time in the match, this time on a volley from the top of the box.
Waterford keeper Tristan Philo saved seven on the night and combined with the Fordian defense to earn his first career varsity shutout.
Mechanicville 3 Stillwater 0
Mechanicville controlled the action throughout the match and pulled away after the break for the home win over neighboring Stillwater.
The home squad was rewarded a PK on a hand ball in the box at the 18-minute mark that Graham Murphy converted into a 1-0 Mechanicville lead.
Murphy added another tally in the second half as did Alex Shakow and the Mechanicville defense shackled the Stillwater attack with Mechanicville keeper Brady O’Connor enjoying a save-free evening between the posts.
Stillwater keeper Tristan O’Brien saved 15 shots in the loss.
Stillwater 2 Lake George 0
Stillwater connected on first half tallies, seven minutes apart, which proved more than enough offense to notch the home “W” on Thursday night.
At the 22:28 mark Brooke Hodgson finished a Bridget Coon look for the 1-0 Stillwater advantage and seven minutes later it was Coon with her second helper of the half, this time finding Lucy Rubenstein for the score.
Stillwater keeper Ally Liamero saved seven shots and with the Stillwater “D” earned the shutout.
Lake George keeper Addison Reinhold saved 12 in the loss.
With the win Stillwater moves to 6-0 on the season.
Hoosick Falls 3 Greenwich 2
The Falls’ Dylan Callahan led all golfers with a 4-over par 39, leading the Panthers to the narrow win over the Witches in action at the Battenkill Country Club on Thursday.
Other top scores for Hoosick Falls included Jack Shea and Spencer Tate with rounds of 44, Aidyn DeGraff 45, Zach Houghton 50, Quinn Haynes 55, and Memphis Hathaway with a nine-hole score of 56.
With the win Hoosick Falls moves to 6-2 on the year and will host Mechanicville, (7-1), this afternoon
