Mechanicville Wins Two, Hoosick Falls Tops Granville

Trailing 2-1 at the break Mechanicville connected on three unanswered in the second half to earn the come-from-behind “W” at home on Saturday.

Graham Murphy with a hat trick tallied once before intermission and twice in the second half as did Anthony Mastropietro to lead the Mechanicville attack.

Mechanicville keeper Brady O’Connor saved 10 shots in the win.

Mechanicville 8   Fonda 0

Mechanicville raced out to a 6-0 halftime lead and cruised to the road win over Fonda.

Gianna Pitts with a hat trick and Tanner Eiseman with two goals led the Mechanicville assault that saw Emma Andrews, Calli Christensen, Emma Manning and Adrianna Loiacano add single scores.

Mechanicville keeper Christina Bornt saved just one shot in posting the shutout, while Fonda keeper Grace Fornare, under siege throughout, turned back seven shots in the loss.

Waterford 3   LaSalle 2   OT

The Fordians Mia O’Brien connected on three scoring strikes, the last coming in overtime as Waterford slipped past LaSalle notching the well-earned victory on Saturday.

Waterford keeper I. Ramundo saved 10 shots in the win.  

Hoosick Falls 3   Granville 1

Aiden Eckert, Luke Nichols and Max Salvesvold all found the back of the net in the Falls nonleague, road win over the Golden Horde of Granville on Saturday morning. 

Salvesvold added an assist as did Troy Brown for the Panthers in the match.

Granville’s lone goal came when Matthew Ruigrok connected on a penalty kick in the second half.  

Chazy 4   Waterford 0

Nursing a 1-0 lead after one half of play, Chazy gradually pulled away with three second half tallies to post the road win over the Fordians.

Chazy’s only score before the break was an own goal by Waterford, but after intermission the elite Class D squad saw Jack McAuliffe ring the bell twice and Landon Deprey add a single strike to secure the victory.

Waterford keeper Tristan Philo saved 15 shots in the match.
