Cambridge, Greenwich Post Wins in Boys Soccer

Cambridge/Salem 3   Hoosick Falls 1

C/S built a 2-0 lead by halftime, added a second half strike and kept the Falls off the board throughout in posting the home win on Wednesday.

Ewan Lederer-Barnes gave C/S a 1-0 lead, finishing a Henry Dill feed and later in the half Oliver Hickland found Josh LaFountain for the 2-0 advantage.

After the break LaFountain’s second goal of the match extended the home squads lead to 3-0.

Hoosick Falls avoided the shutout when Max Salvesvold and Luke Nicholas ran a give and go with Nicholas finding the back of the net.

 

Greenwich 7   Stillwater 0

The Witches ran out to a 5-0 lead by the break and cruised to the home win over Stillwater on Wednesday night.

Five minutes in, Mason Foster put Greenwich on the board cleaning up a loose ball in front, and Owen Shannon quickly followed up finishing a Jonathan Morency feed for a 2-0 advantage.

Levi Murray added goal number three, stealing a pass, carrying it and unleashing a rocket from 25 yards out for the score.

The final two goals of the half came when Noah Ives connected off a Shannon find and an own goal by Stillwater.

After the break, Christian Morency joined the scoring parade on a putback, and Ives closed things out with his second tally of match.

Greenwich keeper Jack Scieszka saved two shots in the win while Stillwater goaltender Jayden Mwale turned back eight shots in the loss.  

 

Stillwater 4.5   Tamarac .5

Daniel Degrasse-Izzo led the way for Stillwater carding the low round of 37 in action at the Saratoga Lake Golf Club on Tuesday.

Joining Degrasse-Izzo with individual match wins for Stillwater were Tye Morris, Nick Rose and Vincent Festa.

Stillwater’s Julian Peluso and Tamarac’s Jacob Bieg halved the point in flight three.
