Friday Night Results: Greenwich Rolls Over Rensselaer, Mechanicville Falls to V’liet

Greenwich 71   Rensselaer 6

Greenwich scored offensively, defensively and in the return game in a dominant effort, as they posting the win under the lights in Greenwich Friday night.

Witches quarterback Ryan Ingber threw a pair of touchdown passes in the first frame and ran for another finding Micheal Cronin and Ethan Mullen through the air to go with a 27-yard run for six.

Kayden Bentley added a return score in the period for Greenwich who led 28-0 heading into the second quarter.

The Witches scored five more times in the second on Ingber’s third scoring strike, finding Langston Hall, a pair of Will Weber touchdown runs, a safety, and Ingber’s second rushing score of the night, extending the Greenwich lead to 57-0 at the break.

Jameson Dobson and Henry Logan capped the Witches scoring with second half rushing td’s.

Ingber finished the night completing all six of his pass attempts for 87 yards and running for 47 yards on four carries.

Weber led the Greenwich ground game with 111 yards on eight totes. 

 

Watervliet 14   Mechanicville 6

Watervliet held a 6-0 lead at halftime and held off their hosts to notch the road win Friday night in Mechanicville.

Running back Jordan Barnes accounted for Mechanicville’s score on a third period, 3-yard touchdown run.  Barnes finished the night with 131 yards gained on 26 carries.

 

Schuylerville 44   Hoosick Falls/Tamarac 8

 

Cambridge/Salem 6   Stillwater 1

Alex Olsen’s hat trick led the way to Cambridge/Salem’s road win over Stillwater.

Luke LeBlanc added a pair of goals and Oliver Hickland a single tally to round out the C/S attack.

Stillwater scored when Connor Gibson cashed in on a penalty kick.
