Girls Soccer: Stillwater Slips Past Waterford, Valley Tops the Falls

Kamryn VanPelt connected off a Brooke Hodgson feed at the 28:44 mark giving Stillwater the 1-0 lead and the Stillwater defense made it stand in posting the shutout over the Fordians Monday night in Stillwater.  

Stillwater keeper Ally Liamero saved seven shots in the win and Waterford goaltender Isabella Ramundo turned away seven shots in the loss.

 

Hoosic Valley 1   Hoosick Falls 0

In a scoreless match with five minutes remaining, the Valley’s Hannah Coffin lofted a corner kick that Payton Gela headed to Kaylee Smith for the put away giving the home squad the “W” on a warm afternoon in Schaghticoke.

Valley keeper Lili Ruepp saved eight shots and combined with the Hoosic Valley defense for the clean sheet.

 

Mechanicville 2   Tamarac 1

After a scoreless first half, Mechanicville used a pair of Gianna Pitts strikes to slip past Tamarac for the road win at Clum’s Corners.

Emma Andrews set up both goals by Pitts, while Tamarac goal came on an unassisted tally from Abby Ackner.

 

Cambridge 1   Emma Willard 0

Vanessa Robinson hit on a second half, scoring strike for the lone goal in the match, giving Cambridge the home victory over the Jesters of Emma Willard.

Cambridge keeper Lexie Pedersen saved 15 shots in posting the shutout, while Jesters’ goaltender Lucy Neidl tuned away 25 attempts in the match.
