Boys Soccer: Panthers Slip Past the Saints, Greenwich Tops C/S in OT

Hoosick Falls 3   Spa Catholic 1

The Falls built an early 2-0 advantage and held off the Saints for the home win, under the lights in Hoosick Falls.

Luke Nicholas gave the home squad a 1-0 lead, finishing a find from Max Salvesvold and soon after the Falls extended the cushion when Troy Brown found Aiden Eckert for the Panthers second tally of the match.

Spa Catholic cut the deficit in half when Jack Dowd found the back of the net for the Saints, but with just minutes remaining Nicholas connected for his second score, this time off an Eckert find as Hoosick Falls put away the “W”.

Greenwich 2   Cambridge/Salem 1    2 OT

In a game that needed extra sessions to decide, the Witches Owen Shannon, off a failed clear, went far post in the second overtime giving Greenwich the well-earned victory.

The Witches carried a 1-0 lead into the break off a Noah Ives tally, but in the second half C/S knotted the score on a Jack LaFountain scoring strike, setting up bonus soccer and ultimately Shannon’s game-winner in the regular season finale for both squads.
