Take Away: In the highly anticipated C Finals rematch, defense took center stage with points at a premium in the championship run. Stillwater led 11-10 at the quarter break and 22-19 at halftime, before Greenwich used a 13-2, third frame to take an eight-point advantage into the final period. Stillwater responded with an 11-2 run and pulled even at 35-35 with 3:43 remaining. But on the Witches next possession a Jordan Wolfe triple gave Greenwich the lead that they didn’t give back to earn the Class C championship.

Greenwich advances to regional play on Tuesday at Averill Park, facing SS Seward from Section 9 in a 7:30 tip.

Stillwater finishes an outstanding season at 21-3.

Take away: In a Class D title game that was close throughout, the Saints led 24-22 at the break and held a 35- 31 lead entering the final frame where they used Ryan’s defensive prowess in the waning seconds to capture Spa Catholic’s first sectional title in program history.
