Key Stat:  Stillwater converted 11 of 21 free throws while Hoosic Valley attempted just four from the stripe, connecting one time.

Take Away:  Stillwater won every quarter and slowly pulled away to the comfortable win, their 12th straight to start the season.  

 

Mechanicville 75   Waterford 34

Key Stat:  Mechanicville lead 24-4 after the first period of play.

Take Away:  Mechanicville ran away from their hosts early, in moving to 9-2, 7-2 on the year.

 

Spa Catholic 53   Tamarac 49

Key Stat:  Spa Catholic outscored their guests 22-13 in the fourth period.

Take Away:  The Saints trailed 36-31 entering the fourth but used a big final frame to earn the come-from-behind “W”.

Key Stat:  The Falls held an 18-3 advantage in made threes.

Take Away:  The Falls bottomed 10, first-half triples, building a 46-16 lead by the break, and cruised to the road win over Cambridge.  

Roundball Results: Greenwich, Mechanicville Continue to Roll

Greenwich 81   Waterford 27

Leading Scorers:  Witches – Olivia Davis 19   Brooke Kuzmich 19, 3 3’s   Adrianna Rojas 18   Grace Autiello 16, 4 3’s         Fordians – Rachel McOmber 12

Key Stat:  Greenwich held the Fordians to single scoring numbers in every period.

Take Away:  The Witches put four players in doubles and cruise to their 11th win in as many outings.  

 

Mechanicville 65   Emma Willard 51

Leading Scorers:  Mechanicville – Ella Zecca 28   Molly DiSiena 18         Jesters – Audrey Shields 32

Take Away:  After dropping their first game of the year, Mechanicville hasn’t lost since running their winning streak to 11 with the victory over Emma Willard.  

 

Cambridge 45   Hoosick Falls 39

Leading Scorers:  Cambridge – Ashley Moses 14        Panthers – Ava Case 18, 4 3’s   MacKenna Roberson 11

Key Stat:  Cambridge bottomed six of seven free throws in the final frame to close out the “W”.

Take Away:  Cambridge trailed 13-7 after eight minutes of play but took the lead in the third quarter and sealed the win with clutch free throw shooting down the stretch.  

 

Canajoharie 56   Spa Catholic 53

Leading Scorers:  Canjo – Megan Blakeslee 16, 3 3’s   Zionne Robarge 14         Saints – Sophia Ryan 26

Key Stat:  Canajoharie outscored the Saints 22-9 in the fourth quarter.

Take Away:  Spa Catholic took a 44-34 lead into the final period but Canajoharie caught fire and posted the come-from-behind win over the Saints.  

Valley Boys, Greenwich Girls Post Wins

Hoosic Valley 61   Cambridge 21

Leading Scorers:  Valley – Isaac Wiley 17   Chris Jones 15   Gabe Coffin 12          Cambridge – Tully Maher 8

Key Stat:  Hoosic Valley outscored their guests 23-0 in the final frame.  

Take Away:  The Hawks put three players in doubles, won every quarter and had little trouble in moving to 8-4, 7-2 on the year. 

 

Greenwich 56   Coxsackie-Athens 26

Key Stat:  Just two players scored in the contest for Coxsackie.

Take Away:  Four Witches hit double digits in a game Greenwich led 25-13 by halftime and cruised to their 10th win in as many outings.   

Stillwater Slips Past Mechanicville

Leading Scorers:  Stillwater – Kaelan Leak 22, 5 3’s    Jaxon Mueller 20    Lukas Lilac 11      Mechanicville – Colin Richarson 17    Cruz Goverski 17   Austin Rosowicz 12, 3 3’s

Key Stat:  Stillwater made more free throws than Mechanicville attempted connecting on 15 of 22 while the host squad converted 9 of 14 from the stripe.  

Take Away:  Stillwater, ranked #2 New York state, Class B, took the short trip into Mechanicville to face the #15th ranked Class B squad in a much-anticipated matchup that didn’t disappoint. 

Stillwater ran out to a 14-3 lead just three minutes in before Mechanicville slowly crawled back in, trimming the deficit to one at 35-34 heading into the break.

Late in the third period and into the start of the final frame the visitors again opened up a double-digit lead and with 3:15 remaining held a 63-50 advantage.

But Mechanicville stormed back and pulled to within one on a Richardson triple with :03 left before Stillwater ran out the clock.  

With the win Stillwater moves to 11-0, 8-0 on the year while Mechanicville goes to 8-2, 7-2 for the season.

 

Monday Night Hoops

Key Stat:  Tamarac held the Fordians to single scoring numbers in three of the four periods.

Take Away:  Tamarac outscored Waterford 33-15 after the break to earn the road win.

Key Stat:  Mechanicville held an 18-7 edge in made twos. 

Take Away:  Mechanicville slowly pulled away building a 42-27 lead after three quarters and closed out the home “W”.

Key Stat:  Greenwich outscored Stillwater 19-8 in the final frame.

Take Away:  Stillwater held the high-scoring Witches to 26 points over the first three periods, but Greenwich used a big fourth frame to escape with the road win.

Key Stat:  Mechanicville ran out to a 33-6 lead after one.  

Take Away:  Everyone who dressed for Mechanicville scored points with four reaching doubles as the home squad hangs 100 in the one-sided decision.

Key Stat:  The Falls held a 10-3 advantage in made threes.

Take Away:  The Panthers trailed 19-15 at the break but outscored the Bengals 40-17 in the second half to post the comeback “W” at home.

Key Stat:  The Valley doubled up Spa Catholic 38-19 over the final two frames.  

Take Away:  Hoosic Valley trailed 12-11 after the first period but pulled away with a big second half where more than half their points came on made triples. 

 

Tamarac 47   Glens Falls 42

Leading Scorers:  Bengals – Myanna Faraj 18   Kayla Beaudoin 13, 3 3’s   Morgan Hayden 10        GF – Gianna Endieveri 13

Key Stat:  Tamarac edged in front with a 15-11 third quarter.

Take Away:  In a close game throughout that was knotted 21-all at halftime, the visitors took the lead in the third, and held on for the victory in moving to 8-2 on the season.  

Waterford, Greenwich Notch Wins; Kuzmich Reaches Scoring Milestone

Waterford 49   Hoosick Falls 42

Leading Scorers:  Fordians – Rachel McOmber 18   Maddy Atwood 11          Panthers – Ava Case 27, 4 3’s

Key Stat:  Waterford converted 13 of 17 free throws while the Falls connected on 8 of 19 from the line.  

Take Away:  The Fordians trailed 24-17 at the break but took the lead with a 29-6 third frame on their way to the well-earned “W”.

Leading Scorers:  Witches – Grace Autiello 23, 5 3’s   Adrianna Rojas 22   Brooke Kuzmich 21        Saints – Sophia Ryan 11

Key Stat:  Greenwich outscored the Saints 51-9 over the middle two periods.

Take Away:  Leading by 10 after the first quarter, the Witches ran away from their hosts in posting the easy win on a night that saw three Greenwich players score 20 or more including the sophomore Kuzmich, who joined the 1000 career point club.
