To say that Berlin’s first season as a member of the Wasaren league has been difficult would be accurate and terribly understated. The Mountaineers boys basketball team made a stop in Mechanicville Thursday night on their gauntlet run through the conference, and while the venue was new the results were all too familiar.
Mechanicville led from start to finish, bottomed 10 triples and put 10 players in the scoring column as they rolled over Berlin and posted a 75-50 decision. Continue reading

Tuesday night in Mechanicville the Red Raiders built a commanding 17 point cushion through three periods of play, but needed a clutch triple from sophomore Josh Germaine late in the fourth to put away the Bengals and post the 64-57 “W”.

Basketball, as we all know, is a game of runs and on Friday night in Mechanicville that theme played out between the Red Raiders and Stillwater before Mechanicville finally put away their neighboring rivals with a 50-41 decision.
The Raiders owned the first run of the night, an 11-0 spurt fueled by a pair of Charli Goverski free throws, a Taylor Grayson triple, and six points from Sammy Pasinella over the final four minutes of the first period to close the quarter with a commanding 19-2 advantage. Continue reading
