Only two games played out in the Wasaren on an icy Wednesday night, as Tamarac and Waterford came away with victories, and with their “W” the Fordians clinch first place in the Battenkill Division.

Key Stat:  Waterford built a 19-9 lead after one and didn’t give it back, riding that cushion and four players in double figures to the victory, that puts the Fordians in Monday night’s championship game in Mechanicville where they’ll face the Panthers of Hoosick Falls.

Leading Scorers:  Bengals – Anthony Ciampolillo 30       Frank Zotto 23        Bo Catherwood 10            Red Raiders – Luciano D’Ambro 17         Nick Billert 16

Key Stat:  In a close game throughout the Bengals used a 22-14 final frame to earn the road victory over the Raiders.

A pair of non-league runs on Wednesday night saw the boys from Waterford roll over Heatly, while the Stillwater girls fell to Ichabod Crane.

Key Stat:  The Fordians hung 53 points on the board in the first half, running out and away from Heatly, and with the “W”, running their season mark to 8-6.

Key Stat:  Stillwater held a 14-12 advantage after one, but the Riders won each of the last three quarters and slowly pulled away in notching the victory over the Warriors.

Just two games were played in the Wasaren on Wednesday as Mother Nature wiped more than half of the schedule.  In the two runs that avoided postponement Stillwater and Waterford notched the early January “W’s”.

Key Stat:  The Fordians connected on seven triples and took control over the middle two periods to post the win and move to 4-3, 7-4 on the year.
