Take Away:  Mechanicville built a 37-15 lead by the half and cruised from there to the road win over Cambridge, moving to 3-2, 5-3 with the “W”.

Key Stat:  Hoosic Valley outscored their hosts 29-13 after the break.

Take Away:  Trailing 7-6 after the first frame, the Valley won each of the next three periods, pulling away for the road victory over B/NL.

Key Stat:  The Saints built a 30-15 halftime advantage.

Take Away:  Spa Catholic rode their first half cushion to the road win over the Bengals and go to 6-0, 11-1 with the victory.  

 

Hoosick Falls 55   Greenwich 46

Leading Scorers:  Panthers – Carson Glover 20     Ryan Sparks 13     Brady Mann 11           Witches – Joe Skiff 28

Key Stat:  The Falls outscored Greenwich 24-13 in the final period.

Take Away:  Trailing 33-31 entering the fourth, Hoosick Falls earned the comeback “W” led by Sparks and Glover who combined for 19 points in the decisive final frame.  With the win the Falls move to 5-1, 9-1 on the year.  

 

Stillwater 79   Waterford 52

Leading Scorers:  Stillwater – John Williams 19     Rocco Schneller 11     Landon Staie 10     Cody LaFountain 10        Fordians – Logan Kelly 21, 4 3’s     Connor Belonga 11, 3 3’s

Key Stat:  Stillwater jumped out to a 23-5 lead after the first eight minutes.

Take Away:  Stillwater started fast and were never headed in posting the road “W” over the Fordians.  

Wasaren Girls Hoops: Mechanicville, Valley, Bengals Notch Wins

Mechanicville 51   Cambridge 44

Leading Scorers:  Mechanicville – Ava Gaspie 14     Molly DiSiena 13         Cambridge – Megan Day 15, 4 3’s     Ashley Moses 14

Key Stat:  Mechanicville narrowly won three of the four quarters.  

Take Away:  In a close game throughout Mechanicville built a 26-20 halftime lead and used a 14-11 fourth frame to hold off the Tigers and post the road “W”.  With the victory Mechanicville moves to 4-1, 8-1 on the year.  

 

Hoosic Valley 53   Emma Willard 26

Leading Scorers:  Valley – Hannah Coffin 15     Kaylee Smith 10          Jesters – Hunter 12    

Key Stat:  Hoosic Valley held their hosts to single scoring numbers in all but one period.

Take Away:  Holding a 27-19 advantage at the break, the Valley put the game away with a 18-5 third quarter, cruising from there to the road win in Troy.  

 

Tamarac 74   Spa Catholic 38

Leading Scorers:  Bengals – Kayla Beaudoin 29, 3 3’s     Morgan Hayden 16     Raegan Sorel 13        Saints – Sophia Ryan 34, 4 3’s     

Key Stat:  The Bengals hung 41, first-half points on the board.

Take Away:  Tamarac owned a 41-15 cushion by intermission and closed things out over the final two frames for the home win in Clum’s Corners.  The Bengals improve their season mark to 5-1, 7-2 with the “W”.  

Witches Win Twice, Bengals Top Berlin/New Lebanon

Greenwich 61   Schuylerville 59

Leading Scorers:  Witches – Joe Skiff 17     Cal Curtis 16     Langston Hall 12, 4 3’s          Black Horses –  Bolduc 22     Degregory 14

Key Stat:  The Witches held a 9-3 advantage in made threes.

Take Away:  Trailing 21-20 at the half, Greenwich gained the lead with a 26-17 third quarter and held off the Black Horses for the nonleague win at home. 

With the victory the Witches move to 7-3 on the year.

Take Away:  Greenwich led 26-9 after the first eight minutes and cruised from there to the road win, moving to 6-0, 10-0 on the season.

Take Away:  Tamarac jumped out to a 20-4 lead after one quarter of play and coasted to the victory in Clum’s Corners Wednesday night.

Key Stat:  The Valley held Tamarac to single scoring numbers in each of the final three periods.

Take Away:  Defensively Hoosic Valley allowed just 17 points over the final three frames while generating enough offensively to earn the home “W” over the Bengals

Key Stat:  Mechanicville outscored the Fordians 26-7 in the third frame.  

Take Away:  Mechanicville built a 37-18 lead by halftime and cruised to road victory over Waterford.

Take Away:  Greenwich took control with a 22-5 second quarter, put three players in doubles and shot it well from distance in notching the road “W” over Cambridge.

Key Stat:  The Saints limited the visitors just 14 points over the first three periods.

Take Away:  Spa Catholic uses a big defensive effort while putting 11 players in the scoring column to post the one-sided victory and remain undefeated in Wasaren play.

Key Stat:  The Falls outscored B/NL 31-5 over the middle two frames.

Take Away:  Hoosick Falls led 21-16 after the first eight minutes but locked down defensively the rest of the way in capturing the comfortable road victory, improving to 8-1 on the year.

Key Stat:  The Witches held a 9-0 advantage in made threes.  

Take Away:  Greenwich used the long ball and a strong defensive effort to notch their ninth win in as many outings.

Key Stat:  Mechanicville held the Fordians to single numbers in three of the four quarters.

Take Away:  Leading 24-16 at the break, Mechanicville put the game away with a 22-2 third frame in moving to 7-1 on the year.

Key Stat:  Tamarac held the Valley to 12, first-half points.  

Take Away:  The Bengals led 26-12 at the break and weathered an 11-0 run by the Valley to start the third, before closing the game out with an extended run of their own to post the win in Schaghticoke.

Take Away:  After an even first period, the Falls slowly pulled away winning each of the final three quarters in notching the home a “W” over the Cannoneers.

Key Stat: The Saints connected on 14 of 27 from the foul line, while Corinth worked their way to the stripe just four times with three makes.

Take Away: Spa Catholic earns a big road win, putting three players in doubles while leading wire to wire in handing Corinth their first loss of the season.

Key Stat: Greenwich outscored Luzerne 31-4 in the first period.

Take Away: The Witches drilled 11 threes, put three players in doubles and 12 in the scoring column in rolling over Corinth at the Argyle Showcase on Friday.

Key Stat: The Tigers won every quarter and held Salem scorless in the final frame.

Take Away: Cambridge built a 16-6 advantage after one quarter of play and were never headed, notching the win in the Salem Holiday Tournament.

Key Stat:  The Panthers converted 13 of 22 free throws while Mt Anthony was 2 of 2 from the line.

Take Away:  Trailing 31-29 entering the final frame the Falls used a 20-7 fourth period to earn the road win over their interstate rivals Thursday night.

Key Stat:  Cambridge held Hartford to 13, first-half points.
