Wednesday Results: Mechanicville, Waterford Roll to W’s

Mechanicville 12   Hoosick Falls 

Mechanicville dominated from the start connecting on eight first-half goals on their way to the easy home win over the Panthers.

Seven different Mechanicville players found the net including Scotty Lynch with four goals, Cruz Goverski and Ethan Raucci with two apiece, and Declan Charette, Jack Salvadore, Rece Dyer and Graham Murphy all with single tallies.

Mechanicville keepers Mark Pingelski and Charette saved four shots in posting the shutout.

 

Waterford 13   Spa Catholic 0

Eleven Fordians scored, seven notching their first varsity goal in Waterford’s one-sided victory over the Saints on Monday.

Connor Belonga led the assault with a hat trick with single scoring strikes coming from Nick Frazier, Blake Guertin, Cole Griner, Adil Yaqoob, Andrew Brundige, Mason Noto, Juleon Talavera, Christian Mulligan, Sam Caulkins and Alvin Collet-Cruz.

Fordian keeper Logan Kelly saved five shots and combined with the Waterford defense for the clean sheet.

 

Cambridge/Salem 1    Stillwater 0

C/S’s Luke Leblanc scored the lone goal of the match off a direct kick from Rowan Ossont and the C/S defense made it stand for the well-earned road “W” over Stillwater.

The C/S defense led by keeper Quinn Keegan, Ethan Adams, Declan Donalson, Jonah Stevens, and Asher Madison posted their sixth shutout of the season.

 

Greenwich 5   Berlin New Lebanon 1

Greenwich scored twice before the break and added three more after intermission in posting the comfortable home win over B/NL.

Seven minutes in, Hudson Logan cleaned up a rebound in front giving the Witches a 1-0 lead, and with two minutes remaining in the half a Noah Speanburg header off Max Nichols cross gave the home squad a 2-0 advantage.  

With 23:00 left in the match Wyatt Skiff finished off a Sam Palacios thru ball giving Greenwich a 3-0 cushion.

Minutes later B/NL’s Logan Healy put the visitors on the board with an unassisted tally before Greenwich closed out the night with goals from Palacios and Owen Shannon sealing the victory.

 

Mechanicville 5   Hoosic Valley 0

Nate Salvadore carded the low round of 39 leading Mechanicville past the Valley in action at the Mechanicville Golf Course on Monday afternoon.  

Joining Salvadore in the winner’s circle were teammates Matthew and Jack Salvadore, Jacob Pickett, Ben Amato and Matt Munger.

With the win Mechanicville stays unbeaten at 14-0 on the year.

 

Hoosick Falls 4   Greenwich 1

Panther senior Aiden Fleming’s round of 4-under 30 showed the way in the Falls home win over the Witches.

Fleming ties his own mark for the best nine-hole score in team history.

Other top scores for the Panthers included Brady Mann 37, Spencer Tate 38, Jack Shea 40, Devin Gauthier 42 and Jack Callahan with a round of 46.   

Greenwich scores included Erik Wade 37, Sam Ziehm, Brayden Stuzman and Omar DeJesus with 42’s, Richie Coon 44, and Peter Wade with a round of 48.

Hoosick Falls moves to 11-2 on the season with the victory.

 

Mechanicville 4   Hoosick Falls 1      Tuesday

Mechanicville’s Logan Starks’ even-par round of 34 led the visitors past the Falls in action at the Hoosick Falls Country Club on Tuesday.

Top scores for Mechanicville included Matt and Nate Salvadore with rounds of 37, Ben Amato 39, Jack Salvadore 46 and Jacob Pickett with a round of 48. 

Top scores for the host squad included Aiden Fleming 36, Dylan Callahan 39, Jack Shea 43, Brady Mann, Spencer Tate and Aidyn DeGraaf with 44’s, Devin Gauthier 47 and Zach Houghton with a round of 60.
