Wasaren Boys Soccer: Mechanicville, Falls, Valley Post Wins in WAC/Wasaren Crossover

In the annual WAC/Wasaren crossover played at Afrims, Mechanicville used a goal in each half and stellar defense to get past Cobleskill on Saturday.

Logan Starks connected from long range in the first half for Mechanicville while Cruz Goverski hammered in a second tally.

Keeper Mark Pingelski saved seven shots and combined with the Mechanicville defense for the clean sheet. 

 

Hoosic Valley 2    OESJ 0

In their crossover matchup the Valley parlayed goals from Evan Maloney and Carter Simpson into the “W” over OESJ.   

 

Waterford 1   Johnstown 1

After a scoreless first half, Johnstown got on the board just minutes after the break on an unassisted goal from Mason Gray.  

The Sir Bills held the one goal advantage until the Fordians connected on the equalizer with less than two minutes remaining in regulation when a Mason Noto cross found Jake Catanzariti who finished, knotting the score at 1-1 which was the final tally after scoreless overtime sessions.  

 

Greenwich 0   BKW 0

Defense ruled in this WAC/Wasaren matchup as the two squads battled to a scoreless tie.

Witches keeper Jack Scieszka came up in the match saving 21 shots and with the Greenwich defense kept BKW off the board.

BKW keeper Andrew Zink saved two shots in the game.

 

Hoosick Falls 2   Canajoharie/Ft. Plain 0

Aiden Eckert, off a Ka’Shae Thomas feed and Michael Thomas off an Eckert find proved to be more than enough offense for the Falls as the Panther defense pitched the shutout in the win over Canjo/F. Plain in the WAC/Wasren crossover at Afrims Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon.
