Girls Soccer; Valley Moves On, Falls, Bengals Fall

Hoosic Valley 1   Greenville 0:  Sami Dickinson took a Madison Eddy pass and finished midway through the first half and the Valley defense made it stand as the Indians posted the victory in opening round sectional play in Class C.

Lauren Paul saved six for the 12th-seeded Indians who travel on Wednesday to Mechanicville to take on the Red Raiders in a quarterfinal match.

 

Schalmont 6   Tamarac 1:  In a game that was tied 1-1 at the half, Schalmont scored five unanswered goals after the break to claim the Class B quarterfinal win over the Bengals of Tamarac.

Sydnee Metzold with a hat trick, and Kaylie Older with a pair of goals led the Sabre attack.

Sydney Moss tallied the lone goal for Tamarac, who finish a fine season with a 10-5-3 mark.

 

CCHS 4   Hoosick Falls 0:  Catholic Central scored four times after intermission breaking the scoreless deadlock, and posted the Class B quarterfinal victory over Hoosick Falls.

Claudia Fountain and Emily Frodyma both scored a pair of goals to lead the Crusaders.

Panther keeper Sydney Miller saved 14 shots for Hoosick Falls who finish an excellent year with a 10-5-3 record.
