The Greenwich girls cross country team, perennially a dominant force breezed to the team title in the Wasaren cross country championships on Tuesday at Saratoga Spa State Park. Five of the first six girls to cross the finish line were Witches as Greenwich ran away from the field.
Brynne Wright showed the way with a winning time of 18:36 over the 5-kilometer course. Quinn Collins, Emma Cronin and Annabel Gregg of Greenwich were next to cross followed by Hoosic Valley’s Carolyn Burnell and the Witches Brooke Wright to round out the top six finishers.
In the boys race Berlin nipped Greenwich by six points for the tem title, with Colin Beasor of Greenwich claiming the individual title posting the winning time of 16:11. Nick Styer of Berlin, Clayton Orzel of Waldorf, Berlin’s Ryan Gosse, Mechanicville’s Dylan Olivia and Hoosic Valley’s Ben Corey completed the top six.
