Two Wasaren squads notched “W”s” Tuesday night in the opening round of the Hoosier Holiday Tournament in Hoosick Falls.  The host Panthers bested Cohoes 54-44, and the Red Raiders of Mechanicville routed Ravena 63-32.

The Falls put three players in doubles with Lizza Ryan 17 points, Kelly Pine 11, and Eliza Whitman with 10 points leading the Panthers attack. Hoosick Falls will face Ravena tonight in the tournament’s final round.

Sam Dayter scored a game high 21 points to lead Cohoes.

After a 10-9 first period, Mechanicville outscored Ravena 41-15 over the middle two quarters in running away to the easy victory.

Charli Goverski dropped 21 points, and Sammy Pasinella added 10 for the Raiders who knocked down six triples in the contest.  The Raiders will face Cohoes tonight in round two.

Elizabeth Dewsbury scored eight points to lead Ravena.
