Holiday runs continued Wednesday night for many Wasaren teams with Stillwater and Cambridge putting themselves in the winners circle.
Cambridge 46 Saratoga Catholic 45: In a tale of two halves the Indians took charge after the break and posted the come from behind “W” over the Saints claiming the championship of the Saratoga Catholic Holiday Classic.
After being doubled up 26-13 in the first half, the Indians went to work cutting the deficit to 36-30 after three and finished the comeback with a 16-9 final quarter to earn the championship crown.
Tournament MVP Brenden Holcomb scored 22 points to lead the Indians who are showing signs, after a long football campaign and slow start to the basketball season of being a tough out the rest of the year.
Connor Farrington with 23 points and Terel Tillman with 11 led the Saints attack.
Stillwater 64 Fonda 52: Jared D’Aloia scored 28 points to lead the Warriors to their second victory in as many nights, in the Stillwater Holiday Tournament.
Zack Travis added 18 points and 10 rebounds for Stillwater who jumped out to a 21-13 advantage after one, and maintained a cushion throughout most of the contest.
Dan Parslow and Nik Couture led Fonda with 27 and 14 points respectively.
Schuylerville 57 Mechanicville 34: The Black Horses broke open a close game with a 19-5 fourth quarter to claim the win in the Stillwater Holiday Tournament.
Schuylerville held a 38-29 advantage after three before putting this one away over the final eight minutes.
Stratton Sherman scored 24 points, and Justin Carte added 10 for the Black Horses.
Reggie McCann’s eight points led the Red Raider attack.
