Hoosic Valley 4 Canajoharie 3 2 OT: In a wild one at the WAC Wasaren Challenge, Logan Reilly finished a Tyler Eddy cross for the game-winner with :20 left in the second overtime session.

Andrew Wood, Eddy and Bogue also tallied in the game for the Valley who held 2-1 advantage at the half.

Northville 3 Waterford 2: In a back and forth affair, Northville’s Jacob Frank connected on the difference maker midway through the second half, giving Northville the well-earned “W”.

Frank and teammate Colin Morehouse gave Northville a 2-0 lead at halftime with scoring strikes, but Waterford ties things in the first 20 minutes of the second half with Josh Catanzarita and Jarron Maguire ringing the bell.

Five minutes later Frank finished with what proved to be the game-winner.

Mayfield 4 Greenwich 0: Britain Goodermote with two goals and Kenny Dennis and Brody Page with single strikes led Mayfield past Greenwich.

The Witches keeper Owen Keech saved nine shots in the match.

Galway 1 Spa Catholic 0: After a scoreless first half, Galway’s Colin Anderson found the range with the match’s only tally, giving Galway the narrow victory over the Saints.

Middleburgh 8 Berlin/New Lebanon 1: Austin Jones scored five goals in the match, leading Middleburgh past the Moutaineers.

Gabe Hart connected for Berlin/New Lebanon with a first half strike.

Maple Hill 2 Tamarac 0: Maple Hill used a goal in each half to get past Tamarac. An Avery Morris header got Maple Hill on the board early, and a Kayden Morris second half finish, closed out the scoring in the match for the Wildcats.

Waterford 3 Cohoes 1: Addyson Galluski scored a pair of goals and Zoe Grennon added a single strike in the Fordians win over Cohoes.

Isabella Vecchio dished out a pair of assists in the match for Waterford.

Jaclyn Benedetti got Cohoes on the board with a first half tally.

Friday Night Football, Witches, Warriors, Wildcats Post Wins

Greenwich 56 Helderberg Valley 0: If this was fight, they’d have stopped it. Greenwich scored 35 points in the first 12 minutes, and cruised to the home “W” on Friday night.

Deontae Bennett started the scoring parade with a 55-yard touchdown run, before the Witches air attack joined the first period party.

Greenwich quarterback Jesse Kuzmich threw three scoring strikes, spreading the wealth with a 25-yard connection to Tyler Day, a 42-yard hook-up with Jayden Hughes and a 61-yard throw and catch for six, with Bennett.

Matt Conlin rounded out the opening quarter assault by Greenwich, running for a 14-yard touchdown, and with Witches kicker Declan Kelleher perfect on all five PAT’s, Greenwich had decided this one early.

Kuzmich and Conlin added touchdown runs in the second frame, and Bennett closed out the night’s scoring, taking the second half kick-off 75-yards to the house.

Kuzmich completed 3 of 4 passes for 128 yards, while Conlin rushed for 88 yards on four carries.

On the other side of the football, Greenwich (4-0), posted it’s third shutout of the season.

Next up for the Witches is a matchup with an undefeated Warrensburg squad, on Friday night in Greenwich.

Warrensburg 48 Cambridge-Salem 7: Warrensburg used a 30 point second frame to take control, on their way to the one-sided decision over C-S Friday night in Warrensburg.

Dylan Wichell and Tim Kelley both ran for three scores to lead the Tomahawks.

Winchell finished the game with 212 yards on 12 carries, while Kelly rumbled for 175 yards on nine runs.

Cambridge-Salem (0-2, 2-3), scored it’s lone touchdown of the night in the second period when Brice Burr found Alex Luke on an eight yard scoring pass.

Hoosick Falls 41 Johnstown 13: The Panthers used a dominant ground game and a 21 point final period to post the road win over Johnstown.

Falls running back Bryan Mackey ran for 179 yards and a score, while Panther QB Jake Sparks scored three times on runs of 13, one and 42 yards, highlighting a Hoosick Falls rushing attack that complied 310 yards, to Johnstown’s 47, in the game.

Hoosick Falls with their third straight “W”, moves to 3-1 on the season.

Stillwater 49 Chatham 14: Leading 21-7 at the break, Stillwater put the game away with a 21 point third frame, notching the home victory over Chatham.

C.J. McNeil ran 27 times, for 243 yards and three touchdowns to lead Stillwater.

Caleb Dyer added 109 rushing yards with a pair of scores, and caught a touchdown pass from Colby Paffen for Stillwater, who moves to 2-1 on the year with the “W”.

Soccer

Cambridge 2 Hoosic Valley 1: Cambridge used goals from Mia Alpy and Jacey Nieckarz to get past the Valley in girls soccer on Friday.

Megan Rice scored for Hoosic Valley off a Leigha Henkel feed.

Cambridge keeper Rochelle Daniels saved four shots in the match, while Valley keeper Riley Caiazza turned back six attempts.

Friday Morning Recap

Waterford 5 Cambridge 1: Waterford built a 3-0 advantage by halftime and rolled to the road win in Cambridge on Thursday.

Sophia Belonga led the Fordian attack with three goals, while Addyson Galuski and Cassidy McClement added single strikes.

Maize Steele finished a Sam Crandall cross after the break for the Cambridge score.

Maddy Atwood saved 10 shots in goal for the Fordians who post their 10th win in as many outings this year.

Cambridge keeper Mia Alpy turned back 14 shots in the match.

Greenwich 3 Stillwater 2: The Witches trailed 2-1 at the break but used a pair of second half scoring strikes to earn the home victory over the Warriors.

Greenwich took a 1-0 lead early when Faith Ingber split the posts, but tallies from Isabella Estill and Elliot Patenaude gave the visitors a 2-1 cushion at the half.

After intermission, Ingber’s second goal knotted things at 2-2 and later in the half the Witches’ Ellery Mays connected for the game-winner.

Greenwich keeper Ryan Skiff denied four shots in the game while Stillwater goal tender Mia Corraro turned back seven.

Mechanicville 2 Hoosick Falls 0: The Raiders used a pair of first half goals and a shutdown defense to notch the road “W” on Thursday.

Nevaeh D’Aloia and Marissa Krosky both found the back of the net with first half scores for Mechanicville and Red Raider keeper Ally Kenyon, four saves, combined with the Mechanicville “D” for the clean sheet.

Panther keeper Olivia Estes saved 15 shots in defeat.

Golf

Hoosick Falls 5 Mechanicville 0: Aiden Fleming posted the low round of 40 in leading the Panthers to the sweep of Mechanicville at the Hoosick Falls Country Club on Thursday.

Myles Smith 43, Allison Hathaway 48, Dylan Callahan 49, and Ethan Yonconsih 53 all earned points for the Panthers with match wins.

Scores from Mechanicville included Connor Dion 51, Joey Manzer 53, Jack Salvador 53 and Nate Salvador 54.

With the win Hoosick Falls finishes their regular season with a 13-1 mark, trailing only the undefeated Saints of Spa Catholic.

Mechanicville moves to 9-4 on the year.
