Friday Morning Recap

Waterford 5 Cambridge 1: Waterford built a 3-0 advantage by halftime and rolled to the road win in Cambridge on Thursday.

Sophia Belonga led the Fordian attack with three goals, while Addyson Galuski and Cassidy McClement added single strikes.

Maize Steele finished a Sam Crandall cross after the break for the Cambridge score.

Maddy Atwood saved 10 shots in goal for the Fordians who post their 10th win in as many outings this year.

Cambridge keeper Mia Alpy turned back 14 shots in the match.

Greenwich 3 Stillwater 2: The Witches trailed 2-1 at the break but used a pair of second half scoring strikes to earn the home victory over the Warriors.

Greenwich took a 1-0 lead early when Faith Ingber split the posts, but tallies from Isabella Estill and Elliot Patenaude gave the visitors a 2-1 cushion at the half.

After intermission, Ingber’s second goal knotted things at 2-2 and later in the half the Witches’ Ellery Mays connected for the game-winner.

Greenwich keeper Ryan Skiff denied four shots in the game while Stillwater goal tender Mia Corraro turned back seven.

Mechanicville 2 Hoosick Falls 0: The Raiders used a pair of first half goals and a shutdown defense to notch the road “W” on Thursday.

Nevaeh D’Aloia and Marissa Krosky both found the back of the net with first half scores for Mechanicville and Red Raider keeper Ally Kenyon, four saves, combined with the Mechanicville “D” for the clean sheet.

Panther keeper Olivia Estes saved 15 shots in defeat.

Golf

Hoosick Falls 5 Mechanicville 0: Aiden Fleming posted the low round of 40 in leading the Panthers to the sweep of Mechanicville at the Hoosick Falls Country Club on Thursday.

Myles Smith 43, Allison Hathaway 48, Dylan Callahan 49, and Ethan Yonconsih 53 all earned points for the Panthers with match wins.

Scores from Mechanicville included Connor Dion 51, Joey Manzer 53, Jack Salvador 53 and Nate Salvador 54.

With the win Hoosick Falls finishes their regular season with a 13-1 mark, trailing only the undefeated Saints of Spa Catholic.

Mechanicville moves to 9-4 on the year.
