Two makeup games in the league on Monday saw the Greenwich girls and Mechanicville boys post victories.

Leading Scorers:  Witches – Kylie Masse 21       Molly Brophy 15        Tess Merrill 10     Warriors – Marley Mueller 16         Brooke Pickett 12            Molly Sheehan 12

Key Stat:  Greenwich outscored the Warriors 33-24 in the second half to pull away for the “W” in a game that was tied at the half.

 

Mechanicville 69  Greenwich 56

Leading Scorers:  Red Raiders – Josh Germaine 23        Luci D’Ambro 12        Devin Garland 10        Witches – Alex Curtis 13        Carson Mosher 10

Key Stat:  The Raiders hung 48 on the board in the first half and led by 25 at the break. They cruised to the home win on the strength of 11 made triples, with the junior guard Germaine drilling seven.

Cambridge Pulls Away From Red Raiders

Yesterday the Lady Indians of Cambridge visited the Red Raiders of Mechanicville for a Saturday matinee. Two of the premier squads from the Wasaren provided a great storyline, but similar to movies we’ve all seen, this one started fast, but it’s ending didn’t deliver.

Cambridge used a 25-7 advantage in the third period to break open a game that was close at the half, and post a 70-36 decision over  the Raiders. Continue reading

Wasaren Sportsnet Player of the Week

Congratulations to Mechanicville basketball player Josh Germaine on being named Wasaren Sportsnet Player of the Week.

On Friday night in a game against Greenwich, Mechanicville trailed 59-57 with :04 remaining when Josh buried a triple from the top giving the Red Raiders the one point victory over the Witches.

It was Germaine’s fourth three pointer on a night where the junior guard scored 15 points.

Congratulations to Josh, this week’s Wasaren Sportsnet Player of the Week.
