The Valley scored 12 times over the final two frames, closing their regular season out with the comfortable victory and an 11-5 league mark.

Wasaren Sportsnet Player of the Week

Congratulations to Tamarac softball player Maggie Kelley and Stillwater track athlete Joe Yusaitis on being named Wasaren Sportsnet Player of the Week.

For the week of May 5th Kelley was dominant from the circle in two Bengal wins.

On May 6th, in a 5-0 victory over Greenwich, Kelley allowed just one hit and no base on balls, while striking out 11 Witches.

On May 8th Maggie threw a no-hitter, fanning 12 with no free passes in a 4-0 “W” over Hoosick Falls.

For the week of May 12th, Yusaitis won two events in the Wasaren League Meet held on May 15th in Stillwater.

Joe won the 800 meters with a time of 2:05 and doubled down with a winning time of 10:31 in the 3200 meters helping the Warriors to a first place finish.

Congratulations to Maggie and Joe, out newest Wasraen Sportsnet Players of the Week.

Leading Hitters:  Saints – Dylan Custer 2-3, 2 2B’s,     Nick Winslow 2-4, 2B, 2 RBI’s      Aidan Khoury 2-3, RBI          Indians – K, Waldron 1-3, 2B, RBI

The Saints scored four times in the bottom of the fifth to take a 7-2 lead, and closed things out for the “W”.

Wasaren Sportsnet Player of the Week

47_tamaracCongratulations to Tamarac baseball player Tristan Nemjo on being named Wasaren Sportsnet Player of the Week.

Nemjo put together an incredible five game run during the last week of April and early May.

On 4/23 in a 5-2 win over Hoosic Valley, the Bengal junior had two hits including a 3-run homer, and pitched 2.2 innings in relief to pick up the save.

On 4/25 in a 7-0 win over Waterford, he ripped a pair of hits including a home run with 2 RBI’s.

On 4/29 in a 7-4 win over Waterford, Tristan went 3-4 with a double and home run with 2 RBI’s and picked up the pitching decision throwing six innings, striking out nine.

On 4-30 in an 8-7 loss to Ravena, Nemjo had two doubles and a home run and drove in three.

On 5/1 in a 12-1 win over Stillwater, the Bengal Bomber went deep twice, and added a sac fly, good for 5 RBI’s on the afternoon.
