Take Away:  The Indians put three in doubles with 10 players finding the scoring column in the one-sided decision in Schaghticoke.  The Valley finishes the regular season at 17-2, 12-1 and will host Tamarac on Saturday at 4:00 in the Wasaren championship run.

Take Away:  Trailing 35-28 at halftime, the Witches used a 28-18 third frame to gain the lead and closed things out over the final eight minutes to post the home “W”.

Key Stat:  The Falls held a 9-2 advantage in made threes while Stillwater held a 22-8 cushion in two-point goals.  

Take Away:  Leading 24-21 at the half, Stillwater held off the Panthers over the final two periods to notch the well-earned home victory.

Key Stat:  Fair Haven outscored the Valley 37-14 after the break.

Take Away:  Hoosic Valley held a 32-29 lead at the half, but Fair Haven responded after intermission taking the lead in the third and closing the game out with a 21-14 fourth frame to claim the win in a game played at the Washington Avenue Armory on Saturday.  The contest saw the Indians hold a 12-6 advantage in made threes, while the Slaters held a 19-7 cushion in two-point goals.  With the win Fair Haven, the #2 ranked Division II school in Vermont, remains unbeaten at 13-0 while the Valley, the #6 ranked Class C school in New York, moves to 16-2 on the year.  

Friday Night Hoops: Valley Tops Stillwater

Key Stat:  Hoosic Valley connected on 21of 38 from the free throw line while Stillwater converted 9 of 16.

Take Away:  Stillwater, 14-4, 9-3, jumped out to a 20-11 lead after the first eight minutes, but the Indians won each of the last three periods to earn the narrow victory in Schaghticoke.  With the win the Valley, 16-1, 11-1, clinches the North Division of the Wasaren and will face Tamarac in the championship game next Saturday.

Key Stat:  The Panthers dominated early and late, outscoring Waterford 35-17 in the first and fourth quarters.

Take Away:  The Raiders built a 34-29 halftime advantage and used that cushion to hold off Voorheesville, posting the win at home on Thursday.  Mechanicville put three players in doubles led by Richardson who scored 20 for the second straight night since returning to the lineup.  

Girls’ Basketball: Greenwich Stays Perfect: Niesz Reaches Scoring Milestone

Key Stat:  Greenwich held an 8-3 advantage in made threes.

Take Away:  The Witches, (17-0), won every quarter, put nine players in the scoring column and remained undefeated on a night where senior point guard Niesz scored her 1000th career point.  Needing 25 points to reach the milestone Niesz wasted little time, reaching the mark late in the first half, leading the #5 Class C team in the state to the home “W”.
