After splitting a doubleheader on Thursday Greenwich and Cambridge softball squads posted wins on Friday as did the Panthers of Hoosick Falls.

From the jump the Wasaren softball race looked to be one that might go down to the wire with multiple teams in contention. It hasn’t disappointed. On Thursday afternoon two contenders, Greenwich and Cambridge squared off in a double dip, while Hoosic Valley took on always dangerous Mechanicville.
Mechanicville traveled to Granville Wednesday for rainy contests on the softball and baseball diamonds. The Red Raiders had an easy times of things on the softball field, but in baseball the Golden Horde came away with a 7-6 decision in an extra inning affair. 

My Dad likes the harness races more so than the flat track, as he prefers two laps around the track for the money he puts down. With that thought in mind our Wasaren baseball and softball teams have just cruised by the grandstand having completed their first “lap” of the league schedule. This week teams begin the second trip around the Wasaren circuit in hopes of finishing strong and potentially capturing a league 
As the teams of the Wasaren wrap up a week of non league affairs, no squad had a better run these past seven days than the Greenwich baseball team who added yet another win on Friday. Granville also picked up a victory over North Warren in a game played at East Field, while the Red Raiders of Mechanicville fell hard to Hudson Falls.
