I had the privilege on Sunday to watch the USA Women’s Olympic basketball team play Australia in Madison Square Garden. Sitting five rows from the baseline with my daughter Lindsay, who scored the incredible tickets, we were able to truly appreciate the elite skill and athleticism these women possess. **View a short video clip on the Wasaren Sportsnet facebook page.**
Our first visit to the Garden didn’t disappoint, from the iconic venue itself to watching this great sport being played at the highest level by players such as Taurasi, Griner, Bird, Moore, Delle Donne, Catchings, and Stewart to name a few.
USA was challenged at times but won comfortably with periodic chants of “USA USA” filling the Garden throughout the contest.
They’ll go to Rio riding a 41 game Olympic winning streak and in search of the sixth straight gold medal for the U.S. women in the sport.
A great Sunday watching world class athletes in the world’s most famous arena, with Lindsay Beth. A world class day.
