Two makeup games in the league on Monday saw the Greenwich girls and Mechanicville boys post victories.

Greenwich 64  Stillwater 55

Leading Scorers:  Witches – Kylie Masse 21       Molly Brophy 15        Tess Merrill 10     Warriors – Marley Mueller 16         Brooke Pickett 12            Molly Sheehan 12

Key Stat:  Greenwich outscored the Warriors 33-24 in the second half to pull away for the “W” in a game that was tied at the half.

 

Mechanicville 69  Greenwich 56

Leading Scorers:  Red Raiders – Josh Germaine 23        Luci D’Ambro 12        Devin Garland 10        Witches – Alex Curtis 13        Carson Mosher 10

Key Stat:  The Raiders hung 48 on the board in the first half and led by 25 at the break. They cruised to the home win on the strength of 11 made triples, with the junior guard Germaine drilling seven.

A handful of league squads took the floor in non-league runs on Tuesday night with the Bengals of Tamarac winning on both the girls and boys side.

Leading Scorers:  Bengals – Emily Erickson 22        Blackbirds – Olivia Barringer 21

Key Stat:  A 22-8 final frame by Tamarac blew open a tight game, giving the Bengals the “W” in a contest where they connected on 19 of 29 free throws, while Voorheesville made just 1 of 7. Continue reading

Panthers, Witches Post Wins

Leading Scorers:  Panthers – Dimitri Rose 16          Max Kipp 15       Tristan Williams 11        Jon Kempf 10             Fordians – Mike Talavera 13        Bobby Valigorsky 10        Mike Castracani 10

Key Stat:  With the game tied at 34 entering the final period, The Falls used a 20-12 fourth quarter advantage, including 9 of 10 from the foul line, to notch the win over Waterford.  The Fordians led 22-19 at halftime and owned a six point cushion late in the third before the Panthers came back to post their 48th consecutive Wasaren win.

Key Stat:  A 25-8 first period gave Greenwich control, as the Witches put five players in doubles, and cruise  past Corinth for the non-league “W”.

Girls

Key Stat:  Cambridge took control early running out to a 21-9 lead at the quarter, and extended their advantage to 40-16 at the break.  The Cambridge defense turned Hoosic Valley over time and again, which resulted in numerous transition buckets for the Indians. Continue reading
