Boys Basketball; Panthers Stay Hot

One-sided affairs were the theme Tuesday night in the Wasaren with just one boys run decided by less than 28 points.  Among the dominant victories was Hoosick Falls rolling over Hoosic Valley 90-47, one night after pinning a 71-47 defeat on the Saints of Saratoga Catholic who were previously unbeaten in Wasaren play.

Friday Night Hoops

A full slate of action played out in the league Friday night sans one, as the much anticipated girls game between Tamarac and Cambridge was postponed due to slippery floor conditions. That game will be played on Monday at 6 p.m. in Tamarac.

Girls Basketball; Indians, Bengals Stay Perfect

As the 2017-18 basketball schedule approaches it’s midway point two girls teams have yet to be bested, with Tamarac and Cambridge sporting undefeated league marks.  Both posted easy wins Wednesday night, part of a full slate in the Wasaren, but come Friday night one team will suffer their first league loss when the Bengals and Indians get together in Clum’s Corners.

Greenwich Tops Stillwater

A pair of Ellis Pemrick free throws with :10 remaining put the Witches up by four and sealed the Greenwich come-from-behind 48-44 victory over the Warriors in boys basketball on Friday night.

Stillwater, who trailed 18-12 at the half, exploded for 22 points in the third period, and took a 34-31 lead into the final eight minutes, but the home squad used a 17-10 advantage in the final stanza to earn the “W”.

Pemrick led the Greenwich attack scoring 16 points on the night with Carson Mosher adding 15 points for the Witches who improve to 3-1, 5-4 with the victory.

Stillwater’s Brian McNeil led all scorers with 21 points and teammate Cooper Monast netted 10 points for the Warriors who slip to 1-3, 7-3 with the loss.
