A good number of teams from the Wasaren played non-league affairs on Wednesday night, some in a holiday tournament format while others got some run in a single game matchup.

Boys

Lake George 59  Hoosick Falls 56

Leading Scorers:  Warriors – Chris Becker 23    Mason Flatley 14    Alex Jones 10     Panthers – Jonathan Kempf 27    Guy Milliman 15    Evan McCart 12

Key Fact:  Hoosick Falls used a 10-3 run late in the fourth to make it a single possession game, but Lake George guard Alex Jones hit four free throws down the stretch as the Warriors hung on for the win.

 

Cambridge 53  Corinth 50

Leading Scorers:  Indians – Brendan Holcomb 20    Tristan Williams 12     Tomahawks – Dawson DeLisle 18

Key Fact:  Cambridge trailed 37-30 entering the final period but outscored Corinth 23-13 over the final eight minutes to post the come-from-behind victory.

 

Saratoga Catholic 75  Bishop Maginn 62

Leading Scorers:  Saints – Tyler Haraden 31    Ryan McFadden 13    Sean Englert 11     Maginn – Dominique Threatt 22    Bobby Frazier 13    Isiah Johnson 10

Key Fact:  The Saints used a 23-12 advantage in the third to take control and rode a 31 point effort from Haraden, including six triples, to the win.

 

North Warren 67  Berlin 60

Leading Scorers:  Cougars – Steve Monroe 19    Brandon Olden 11    Anthony Girard 10     Mountaineers – Ryan Willis 30    Josh Hendricks 15    Tyler Kellar 13

Key Fact:  The Cougars trailed by 10 early but outscored Berlin 27-13 to take a 37-30 lead into halftime and weathered a 30 point night from Willis to notch the “W”.

 

Stillwater 55  Mayfield 51

Leading Scorers:  Warriors – Brian McNeil 18    Cooper Monast 16     Mayfield – Garrett Delaney 26

Key Fact:  Stillwater trailed 19-12 after one, outscored Mayfield 29-13 over the middle two periods and hung on for the well earned victory in a game that saw Mayfield knock down 10, 3-pointers, six by Delaney, and the Warriors bottom eight triples with Monast drilling four.

 

Girls

Greenwich 80  Granville 33

Leading Scorers:  Witches – Molly Brophy 38     Gabby Wiss 14    Marguita Gutasy 12     Golden Horde – Brooke Perry 8

Key Fact:  A 22-6 first quarter set the tone as the Witches rolled over the Horde behind Brophy’s monster night.
