Boys Basketball; Panthers Stay Hot

One-sided affairs were the theme Tuesday night in the Wasaren with just one boys run decided by less than 28 points.  Among the dominant victories was Hoosick Falls rolling over Hoosic Valley 90-47, one night after pinning a 71-47 defeat on the Saints of Saratoga Catholic who were previously unbeaten in Wasaren play.

Here’s how things played out last night across the Wasaren.

Hoosick Falls 90  Hoosic Valley 47

Leading Scorers:  Falls – Jon Kempf 24     Evan McCart 21     Guy Milliman 11      Valley – Napoli 16     Eddy 12

Key Points:  The Panthers exploded for 32 points in the second period to put this one away early.  The Falls had six different players connect for triples, and shot 19-23 from the charity stripe.

 

Hoosick Falls 71  Saratoga Catholic 47 ( Monday night)

Leading Scorers:  Falls – Evan McCart 20     Jon Kempf 19     Guy Milliman 15       Saints – Terel Tillman 13     Sean Englert 10

Key Points:  The Panthers led 23-9 after one and 41-21 at halftime on their way to the easy win in handing the Saints their first Wasaren loss of the year.

 

Mechanicville 61  Waterford 33

Leading Scorers:  Red Raiders – Nick Billert 10     Keegan McHale 10      Fordians – Joe Panetta 8     Michael Talavera 8

Key Points:  The Raiders bottomed seven treys, put 10 plyers in the scoring column and won every period in cruising to the “W”.

 

Greenwich 68  Cambridge 40

Leading Scorers:  Witches – John Walsh 27     Ellis Pemrick 11     Reed Boduch 10     Indians – Brenden Holcomb 15

Key Points:  Greenwich knocked down 13 triples with Walsh bottoming seven, as the Witches doubled up the Indians 38-19 by halftime and posted their seventh league win in eight outings.

 

Saratoga Catholic 66  Tamarac 60

Leading Scorers:  Saints – Tyler Haraden 24     Aiden Dagastino 21      Bengals – Jacob Defreest 25     Matt Morrow 13

Key Points:  In a close game throughout the difference came at the foul line with Spa Catholic cashing in on 20 of 27 attempts while the Bengals converted just 8 of 18 from the stripe.
